Sunny the parrot likes to play a game. Stick out your tongue, and he’ll do the same.
Then everyone laughs because it’s so funny. Who wouldn’t laugh with a parrot like Sunny?

Hilariously loving, and such a gorgeous birdie!
Sunny is the color of the body of water I wish I was lounging next to.
That’s a very hard color to match, Allein! But how about…
Close enough. I’mma go pack.
Right behind you!
My neighbour across the hall has a lovebird named Cricket. Cricket loves to sit on shoulders and offer opinions. Unfortunately, he is a rather prolific pooper. So I made some backwards bibs for his owner to wear, and she loves them. Easier to wash a bib than have to strip.
What a good idea, and very kind of you!?
That’s so nice! Very clever (I can totally see a niche market…) 😀
Further evidence for my “birds are awesome” file.
I didn’t know you liked birds! 😉
Birdcage, can you name this species? A truly gorgeous avian specimen!
It’s an Indian Ringneck parakeet. They seem to be delightful, humorous dudes. Lots of videos on YouTube of ringnecks that speak and laugh just like that.
Hahaha he wants to see her tongue. Cute. But that he pokes his tongue out too is hilarious. What a delightful pair. So lucky to have eachother. ????
Yes – gorgeous bird, and his human has the happiest smile!
Birds are amazing! I love watching them interact with their humans!
On a separate note, why is there no BIRD emoji?!
My Chromebook emoji keyboard has a rooster ?, a hen ?, three chicks ???, a bluebird ? (representing Twitter, no doubt), aaaaand that’s about it.
And a partridge in a pear tree?
PS That’s not a rooster. sorry.
Emojipedia has
? Bird
? Turkey
? Duck
? Dove of Peace
? Baby Chick
? The, um, “Bird”
? and bird flu, apparently.

This reminds me of a cartoon I saw eons ago – I think in the New Yorker – it was an Ancient Egyptian teacher and his student looking at a wall chart of hieroglyphs and the teacher is saying “Triangle before Bird except after Serpent…”
What a beautiful bird and I love the name Sunny, I just with we had more of his namesake.
This was the view out my office window today, you can see the thunder storm coming.
What a great view! (and that is quite the approaching storm!)
We had a storm today that my husband said was the worst he’d ever seen. I was elsewhere, not far away and there was rain there, but apparently nothing like in our immediate neighborhood. We have so many limbs down, mostly from a huge oak, and one almost broke a second story window – mashed the surround of the window. Big limbs are just hanging by a thread! We’re a little afraid to go in the yard until we have our tree guy evaluate it and cart it away post haste!
I guess we had a storm…I know it rained but I didn’t see it (I don’t sit near a window and barely left my desk today). On my way home there was one traffic light out with a cop directing traffic in the intersection, and then a little further down the cross street was closed on one side because a big tree was laying across the road.
The regular afternoon storm here must have been the leading edge of a cool front because it also had a lot of wind, vs. the usual just plain rain. It did bring the temps down a bit, from the high 90s to the low 90s. Oh joy.
I am sorry Murray C. for your husband, you and your old oaks! That is stressful and the expense clean-up… :S
Thanks, fkaWaldenPond. The crew is coming tomorrow and we’ll have them for the whole day, removing the broken limbs and re-wiring the tree, balancing the canopy. AT least we won’t be having to remove the whole tree – we’ve been babying this tree since we moved in here 20 years ago. It’s got to be over 100 years old. We already lost one a few years back that was about 95 years old. It’s like losing an old friend – heart-wrenching.
There was a storm in my area a while back that brought down a large branch. Smashed my neighbor’s plastic lounge chair.
My cousin had a tree come down in her yard at her old house a few years ago; her son had just let the dog in when he heard it start to fall. Apparently it had been hit by lightning at some point and a bad storm the night before was the last straw but it waited until the next afternoon to actually fall. A few minutes earlier and the dog might have been in trouble.
Probably putting it out of our misery.?And I mean the plastic chair, not the dog!!!!!
?
I felt that earthquake, too. I was off work that week and sitting on my couch. At first I thought it was a truck on the highway but then I realized that no truck had driven by.
Wow. Must have been THE BIG ONE!
That’s the St. Laurence in the background, right?
I think I know the building you’re in – one of those really
tall beautiful ones closer to the mountain? Great location.
I wonder how many times Sunny has bitten the lady’s tongue. I guess once would be enough. The lady obviously loves to play this game (or she wouldn’t do it) but she also obviously has learned that she needs to protect herself.
