First off, shout-out to Kristen for her nice tip. Thank you! And this will be the final shout-out under the NTMTOM logo, as I will be implementing the Cutetropolis brand change over the weekend.
As I said earlier, you won’t have to do anything differently about how you find the site, but if you want to get a head start, bookmark this link:
https://cutetropolis.com
Contrary to what I said earlier, I’m not going to make any changes to commenting at this time. I still want to make improvements to commenting, but I don’t want to rush it.
Tried to go to https://cutetropolis.com but it redirects to http://notthatmiketheothermike.com/2016/07/29/site-change-this-weekend so I can’t bookmark. I will check again later this weekend.
Most browsers will let you add a bookmark manually, but after the change you’ll be able to bookmark using the method you’re used to.
See you in the Cutetropolis, Mayor NTMTOM, and fellow Citizens! 🙂
Will there still be a weekend open thread? I have something waiting for it!
Yep, it’ll be ready at the usual time.
Load the wagons, round up the women and children – and dogs and cats and wombats, and quokkas, and goats and ponies and ….hey! It’s Noah’s Ark!!! We’re movin’ on out!
Will we have an open thread this week end, Mike? I hope so – I’m seething from something I heard a certain nominee say – I mention no names, tell no specifics – but I need the respite I find here. I think my blood pressure is now down to acceptable levels.
Murray, if you want a nice antidote to that, go watch (or re-watch if you saw it live last night) the short speech by Rev. William Barber. Talk about a man who can inspire you! He gave me chills, he was such a powerful speaker!
And yay! for the weekend open thread. I’ve already changed the name of the site on my bookmark, but won’t change the actual name of the link until that changes. I’d find you any way you named your site in any case, NTMTOM! Seriously, how could we survive in this crazy world without (1) you and (2) each other???
Thank you, Laura, very kind of you and I will look for that. I did see part of his speech and it was, indeed, powerful. And I was impressed by the width of his shoulders – silly thing to notice, but he looked to be a massive person! Impressive all round, I think.
Just watched. Terrific.
Thank you for that, Laura! What an amazing orator! I don’t think I’ve ever heard “people of no faith” included positively in a speech by a person of faith. I wish the speech had been more than 10 minutes.????
Will this help, Murray C.?
Ooooh, yes! that helps a ?? (hole + bunch)
Sorry about that – while I was typing Allein’s much less verbose request came in. Thanks.
The thing I’ve been sitting on all week should help.
Thank goodness.
Thanks for keeping us informed, Mike. I’ll see you all soon in Cutetropolis!
I’m ready. So exciting. Hoping to score an apartment close to downtown and the Public Library. Lol! Umbrella and folding chair for any long lines at the zoo! I also exchanged my dollars for Cutecoins. Boy the dollars were worth less than I planned for. Will need to augment income. Bunny Scritching how does that pay? Oh I pay the bunnies?
Good luck with the apartment, Faye!
Faye, Bunny slaves do not get paid for scritches (or anyThing else!) but the closeness to a bun is a reward in itself! Or at least that’s what Theo? tells me!?
Muffler Superstore?!?!
? ? ? ? ?
I’m seeing the new banner as well now… Are there plans to cycle through three different background images as with the old NTMTOM site?
Five images this time! All new, too.
Rock and Roll and Godspeed! Huzzah!
Hey, Mike, will monthly contributions continue getting to you, or should folks re-up?
No changes will be needed, the contributions will still come to me.
The Cutetropolis theme song
? We’re moving on up
To the cute side
To a deluxe apartment in the sky
We’re moving on up
To the cute side
We finally got a piece of the pie
There’s pie?! Where?!
Yikes. I had to put in my email again to post. Brief panic.
Me too. I thought it was using s different wifi thingy.
Duckies!
I like the coloring of the logo Mike. What tool did you use to get that effect?
The gradient coloring of the logo uses a trick that I learned from this page. It isn’t supported on some browsers. Those browsers will show solid-color letters instead, and that’s OK.
Ah , even cleverer than I thought. Thanks
