“You have brought the gold, I presume? Very well, then — I have brought the amulet you seek. Take it and go, but heed this warning: It is not of this earth nor any place that is holy. It is forged with unspeakable powers beyond control. It is something Man was not meant to hold.”
Found on Sad and Useless by Tamara S.
I instinctively began studying the pattern of wrinkles on their foreheads to determine if both pictures featured the same cat. (I’m thinking they aren’t.)
This one seems to have a darker nosal region, too.
😀
Where IS everybody today!? And, yes, that is one evil lookin’ kitty.
Email notifications seem to have been down today. I didn’t get a chance to check until lunch, and there were three new posts that I hadn’t gotten a message for.
Then my tablet died. I’ll have to look at all the links in the links post when I get home.
(I did get the notification for this one, though.)
Yes, I can confirm the notification system was down. It came back online in time for the fourth post today. My apologies to all.
I’ve been busy so I didn’t realize it until shortly before lunch, but then I thought, OMG What have I missed?!?!?!
Yeah, I sorta panicked when I got home from work and had no updates!
I didn’t have much time to check the site today, I barely had time to breathe! The bosses at work are finally realizing that I’m retrieving in a month and they’re trowing everything at me before I leave!
GiGi, I was uncertain what you meant by “retrieving” – was it an auto-correct or is it a process unknown to me? I have never been in either the academic or business worlds so I wouldn’t know!?
I’ve been retrieved for more than two years now. ?
LOL!! I don’t know if it was autocorrect or I just was too tired. What I meant was I’ll be retiring in a month.
Here I thought it was a particular expression, like the English use of the word “redundant” for “fired”.
“Retrieved” is what happens when they realize they can’t do it without her and ask her back! 😀
Exactly.
By the way, GiGi, congratulations on your “Retrievement”?(just teasin’)
I’ve retrieved some of the activities I used to do. Lol!
I can’t wait to enter my golden retievement years LOL!!
*Clapping Loudly*
I actually opened Cutetropolis to show my husband the golden with the braided tail from yesterday, and he then got hooked on Mike’s wonderful intro. So I showed him how you have to scroll down carefully and then be sure to read the hovertext, and he made a note of the site to come visit. I doubt he’ll ever visit the comments, but yay!, he’s a convert to Teh Cute. I has found another one, hee hee hee….(laughing like that wonderfully evil kitty)
Congrats on turning someone to the Dark Side, Laura! Your hubby will like it here.
That is one evil looking cat. I’m told Sphinxes have wonderful personalities, but I find their lack of fur offputting.
Plus it’s hard to imagine that my beautiful kitties look like that when they’re nekkid.
The fact that you have to bathe them regularly cos they get oily skin is equally off-putting.
The more I see Sphinx Cats the more intrigued I become. I don’t mind getting a look at all those hidden cat details. Who knew?
I’m picking up what you are putting down; my intrigue grows as well and I don’t think (?!) I would mind an oily cat. I would definitely have to implement some sort of wipe down procedure. Huh.
I promised my husband I will get him a sphinx if he goes bald so that he won’t feel alone. I adore hairless animals! I fell in love with a hairless shelter dog who looked like the chupacabra but was insanely sweet.
Hidden Cat Details – a great band name!
I have held a hairless cat once or twice and their skin is so soft and warm. He was a sweetheart. Poor things need extremely warm rooms or clothes on at all times. I would really love to have one, but the constant 78* – 80* is tough to take in Summer time in Alabama
Maybe that is why this guy is so Grouchy. He needs the money to buy more sweatuhs
.
Sphinx kitties feel like a warm peach!! I was showing my flowing coated Persians when the Sphinx started making the show scene. Now THAT’S really the long and short of it!! 🙂
I’d melt in those temps. Obviously I am better suited to kitties with hair, though it’d be fun to meet a hairless one.
There was an episode of Too Cute with a family of Sphinx kittens. I remember they mentioned having to keep the room warmer. They were so cute!
Wrinkled widdle woodgies.
Prune??! *dies and is ded*
And Gremlin! Don’t feed him after midnight!!!
OMG – a litter of baby Yodas!!!
Same thought here – we probably all flashed on that! They are cute.
Hey NOMTOM I thought it might put my pic in there as a tiny little image, then I thought I would take it out, so I did. However, YIKES. My pic is there in rather large format. Could you remove or shrink me considerably since it won’t let me edit as I used to.
Done. I’ve also changed the way the system resizes these images so they won’t be so large.
Don’t mind me, just testing something…
CUTE -crouchin’ in the crotch!
I can’t say what I want to say.
-Snerk – me too! 😀
NTMTOM’s story made me think of Terry Pratchett’s Making Money, with signet rings made of Stygium — best handled with tongs if exposed to light.
The Lord of NAIR.
?
As in the depilatory cream? I always loved their ad claim- ” ….fragrant, odorless Nair”
It’s like cats: behind the scenes.
The Broadway show CATS when the costumes come off. Hahahahaha
No Mr. Bond .. I except you to die
