And finally, a kangaroo who’s a total cuddlemonkey (via Faye):
I saw the Syrian cat guy on the news the other night!
“Memento Meowi” made me laugh…I was talking to the guy at the bookstore a few days ago and he mentioned “Memento Mori” by Muriel Spark was the next book on his to-read list.
On a side note, this is my new desktop background…
And I don’t know if the bee photo is funny so much as just really, really cool.
Mine, too, Allein! I guess great minds and all that. That is SUCH a silly puffin, though, how could I (we) resist?
Breed-specific bans make about as much sense as human discrimination against minorities.
So true! I’d like to see everyone who favors pitbull bans covered from head to toe in peanut butter and tossed to the pitties! Then they’d realize that, other than a few canine sociopaths that could well belong to ANY breed, pitties just want to lick you.
Tell that to Donald Trump.
When I listen to Trump and his supporters, I always wonder if this was how Hitler got started. Because of course, Hitler didn’t start off with concentration camps and ovens. Hitler started with hate speeches that incited fear, which turned into registrations, which turned into ghettos, which turned into concentration camps.
OMG the kitty in Singapore! I could hardly bear to watch the short video.
I know that was so scary, the cat seemed to be smart though to grab the pole, I think he knew it was the only way to safety
I imagine the how he got there was even more scary: so he fell out of the window, onto the ledge, and stuck the landing without falling off somehow?
I live just outside of Montréal and since a woman was killed by a dog last year (by a dog they cannot say for sure was a pit bull by the way) it’s been total hysteria with the politicians in many cities in Québec not just Montréal.
It should be noted that there has been no big movement in the population to ban pit bulls, there’s been no vote or consultation, it all come from the city councillors and the mayors who want to “show” that they are protecting the public.
Sadly, the law will probably stand since it has been passed in so many other cities in Canada, the U.S. and around the world. 🙁
I don’t know how much of these pictures are funny but many of them certainly are cute! My favorite is the mousie on stilts. And I agree with Allein. The Bee pic is just really awesome. What a lucky shot.
There is so much to love about the DSWT. I’m going to sponsor an elephant for my birthday and maybe ask to sponsor another one for Christmas!
Great collection of links. Heart-stopping kitty in danger!Astonishingly wonderful Syrian man! I very much hope he survives and his family and friends survive/come back to him. Snuggling ostrich, baby elephant and kangaroo (how could I wedge myself in there?)!
Baby ostriches! Named Pea and Pod!!!
I know! Seriously! I love ostriches and the babies are so adorable!
Mike, please read this article about the Chengdu panda-breeding facility before you post any more pics of cute baby pandas:

🙁 I’ve always been a little leery of the whole baby-pandas-as-tourist-attraction thing, despite how cute they are.
(btw, your link is missing the last two letters:

Yep, I saw that article. Sorry about that.
OK that’s very sad ?
