“Now, back when I was a kid, movies were just a dollar fifty. But we had all spent our allowances for the week, so we had to sneak in through…” zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
“Huh? Whuh? So like I was saying, I marched right up to him and yelled ‘Listen, officer, last time I checked this was a free country and I can wear what I want!’ ”

I so wish I was with that doggie right now. Or that I was that doggie…
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…………………….
The sleep of the trusting and of innocent. I wish I could sleep like that. I think I tossed and turned all but one hour of last night.
I am right there with you, Birdcage. I have always been a poor sleeper. 🙁 I envy my cats; they are bona fide members of the “Sleep Anytime, Anywhere” club! 🙂
That will be me in two days when I’m retired!
Retired in two days!!!!! Oh my – that’s HUGE! Congrats to you, Gigi! I think that’s such a cause for celebration!!!!!!!
Sure, rub it in.
(As I’m about to get busier because another coworker is leaving next Friday…previous coworker left in August and they did not replace him. They’ll be posting the job this time, at least, but I don’t know how long it’ll take to fill.)
I slept for the first three months of my retirement. Sooo goood.
Congrats, Gigi! I am a wee bit jealous!
Shoot, Gigi! I am WAY jealous!! ???????
What do you want to do most, now that you’re retired?
OMG! Congratulations! Now you are officially required to sleep until at least noon. Getting up before noon is for us poor, working shlubs.
I’d love to boop that nose but I don’t want to wake him up!
If that was a Beagle .. it would be mine .. He sleeps all night .. wakes up .. heads outside to do his ‘patrol’, and takes over the bed until walkie (or as he refers to it as his “PT Coach job”) or lunch time .. then heads back for his pre-pre-nap nap. Then does his “Is he coming home patrol”, followed by the “HE’S HOME ALARM”, then his pre dinner nap, then dinner, followed by his nightly tummie and back rub, then his nap, then his nightly patrol, then heads for his bed. (repeat)
.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I’m glad he’s able to rest up for all that napping. Don’t want to get overtired and just sleep all the time..
replace dachshund with beagle and our house schedule was very much as you described: early morning wake-ups, AM yard patrol, AM nap, mid-morning house patrol, late morning / pre-lunch nap, lunch, neighbourhood patrol, early aft nap, mid-aft house patrol, late aft/pre-dinner nap, dinner, walkies, evening nap, toy chewing, night patrol, late evening nap, bedtime.
What?! No digging in the yard, grabbing food off the table and smeared noseprints/slobber on the windows from squirrel patrol?!? Love beagles!?
If I let him in the ‘yard’ .. he’ll roll in the grass like he nutz while the squirrels laugh at him. As to the food issue .. Don’t get me started .. LOL
Is that your dog, Doug? (oooh, that’s fun to say)
And I walked up hill both ways in the snow!
…Obedience school was RUFF!
Shan, were you barefooted?
That’s been me every day after work since coming back from vacation. Stupid jet lag (and cold!).
Too much Turkey. ???
Yup, every year he falls asleep in front of the football game…
