Okay, it took me a second to figure out what I was looking at….I have been giggling uncontrollably for the past minute.
My mom got one of those crinkly bags for the cats once. Stars was terrified of the thing and Stripes was indifferent (as is his wont), so she ended up sending it to my aunt for her cats (also the cat hammock that they didn’t use).
Truly, we live in an age of wonders ๐

I must admit that the description was accurate. However, I would like to see the aftermath – what happened when Maru got tired of being sat on, or when Hana decided that his seat was terribly lumpy and he needed to move?
I loved it when Hana was sitting on Maru. She has grown into a really big cat. I remember when she was an itty bitty kitty.
I have a feeling that Sleeve Cat Under Buttocks is going to enter my vocabulary like No touchy the fishy and I’m so happy I could incubate a sprinkler did.
It was, literally, sleeve cat under the buttocks. Who knew where was such a thing in this world.
My immediate thoughts watching this:
1. This should be the picture accompanying a definition for purrito
2. I feel gypped that we didn’t get to see Hana coming and actually squatting on said Maru purrito

Duckie, I hope the stitch was only stressed, not torn! There should be a warning on the opening page about Cutetropolis being contraindicated for a month after surgery – hazardous to your health, open at your risk. ๐
I keep a list of phrases that make me laugh uncontrollably… a sort of mental health laughter yoga thing. “Sleeve cat under the buttocks — all possible combinations of English words have now been formed, and the language has now achieved its maximum theoretical potential” has gone onto the list. I can see a sci-fi movie in the making, along the lines of “The Killer Tomatoes”.
P.S. – Hana seems to have doubled her body weight – Mugumogu must feed her very well. I am amazed at Sleeve Cat – HOW can Maru squeeze his bulk in that sleeve? And the burning questions of the day are: HOW does he manage to get out? And, is there no end to his Buddha-like patience?
How much of his bulk is fur?

If Hana continues to expand at this rate she’ll soon surpass Maru in rotundity!
Mugumogu once made of video of these two where they were playing with various toys, and it included the memorable phrase “Hana just keeps shaking it.” That and “sleeve cat under the buttocks” are my two favorites of all time. This beautiful family just keeps delivering the cute and the funny.
I also like the phrase “Doing funny to myself,” from the human owner of Harley the Cockatoo on Youtube (it’s not as naughty as it sounds – her primary language is Dutch, so many of her captions in English have that Mugumogu charm).
Also, from many years ago, “Bite the wax tadpole” – apparently this was a literal translation of a common American product, something like Coca-Cola or McDonald’s, trying to break into the Asian marketplace.
I looked this up once — it’s one of those “sort of true” things, since yes there was a literal string of characters with that meaning pronounced “koka kola” and yes it was used on signs in China, but NOT by Coca-Cola themselves — it was a stopgap measure used by local sellers before Coke had come out with an official Chinese market motto.
