And Don’t Pick Your Horn, It’s Rude

“Now remember, there’s going to be lots of little kids in kindergarten, so play nice. No ramming, no head-butting, and try not to start a stampede like you did in preschool.”

Baby rhinos always seem to be poorly put together, as if all the parts just jumped into their right location but haven’t had time to merge into one being. They sort of have to melt together; I guess that’s when the horn starts coming in. All the new rhinos I’ve seen have that ‘someone put my eyes in backwards’ look to them.

😀 That’s so spot on! Especially the eye-ball bit.

You are right on the money, Duckie – but they are so cute in their awkwardness.

How are you feeling/doing?? I meant to ask you before and somehow spaced out before I did.

You described that perfectly Duckie. ?

Looks like someone stuck a googly eye on him!

Wait! Let me clean the schmutz on your face!

    • fkaWaldenPond November 16, 2016 / 4:58 pm

      But my horn is itchy!!

I don’t know why I love baby rhinos so much, but I do.

Hey, this awkwardly adorable little goober is only two hours away from me! I may have to take a trip to Blank Park Zoo this weekend!

How cool! Give them our best.

    • Faye November 16, 2016 / 5:26 pm

      Pictures please. ?

That would be awesome – you can be the Cutetropolis Press Corps! (perks include a fedora with a press pass, an old-timey camera with flashbulbs, and a glossary of snappy one-liners and ’40s slang).

I probably had that exact same look on my face when I started first grade. I feel your pain, little rhino baby!

And Amyliz, I hope you get to see the little guy!

It reminds me of how my mother (and apparently countless others) would spit on a hanky to clean some smutch – visible only to her – off of my face.

      • JenDeyan November 17, 2016 / 8:24 am

After taking care of countless nieces and nephews, I think it’s the other way around. When you’re a kid it is invisible to you but blatantly obvious to every adult around you.

      • Gigi the cat lady November 17, 2016 / 9:35 am

My mother did that that to me, I must have been about 3 or 4 when she tried to do it in a crowded store and I screamed “stop spitting in my face mommy*” at the top of my lungs, she was so embarrassed she never did it again.

P.S. it sounds ever worst in French

    Hello, all.
Went out by myself today for the first time. Exhausted.
However, I got all test results back this afternoon. Everything is good, no negative or bad results. Can now relax and finish healing.
Thank you all for good wishes and prayers.

When the going gets tusks (give me some allowance here) the tusks get going. Best wishes to Duckie.
