Links: Duck Duck Goat

And finally: It Only Takes a Moment

After the twin shopping frenzies of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Nov. 29 will be Giving Tuesday, in which even a moment’s kindness can make a big difference. To make that point and splatter paint everywhere, Morton Salt teamed up with Rube Goldberg rockers OK Go to film a music video in 4.2 seconds. (via Elizabeth G.)

What an adorable set of links! Of course, as a handspinner, I want to know if you can shear the sheep pig and spin its wool.

    • Birdcage November 25, 2016 / 2:39 pm

I had that very same thought! Not because I’m a handspinner, of course, but I instantly wanted to know if I could get a pigs-wool sweater!!!!

I said this recently on another post, but…

    Was his daddy a poodle?

    • Emsthemonster November 25, 2016 / 3:30 pm

If it is the same poodle, then he must be a very adventurous one maxing out interspecies snorgling 🙂

      • allein ? November 25, 2016 / 4:17 pm

        That’s…not what I thought snorgling meant…

        • Duckie ? November 25, 2016 / 6:35 pm

          ?

        • Emsthemonster November 26, 2016 / 9:35 am

Sorry, I did not mean to offend anyone with my dirty jokes 🙁

          • debg November 26, 2016 / 11:22 am

Are you kidding? I’ve been chortling for 5 minutes here! That was great!

          • Murray C. November 26, 2016 / 11:36 am

Oh, yeah, we’re a bunch of prudes here! HAH!

          • allein ? November 26, 2016 / 12:37 pm

I was just kidding! Trust me, I am not easily offended! 🙂

            • Emsthemonster November 26, 2016 / 1:41 pm

              What a relief 🙂

The heartbreaking/adorable meter went to 11 on the rescue goat in in the duck costume.

    • Faye November 25, 2016 / 4:41 pm

Sometimes we all could use an anxiety duck costume. I’m wearing mine now. Quack, indeed.

      • dubravkamcvmd November 25, 2016 / 4:51 pm

After I read your comment, I said quack to myself. It really is soothing. Hmmm.

Heh… yesterday at dinner we were talking about internet/email scams. Then I checked my email later and had one from Capital One saying my account was locked due to too many failed attempts to log in. The “from” email looks legit, but still, I was suspcious. I went to the site via my usual bookmark, logged in, and lo and behold, got a message saying that my account was locked due to too many failed attempts to log in. I haven’t logged into that account in a couple months, at least.

        Where’s my anxiety duck costume?

        • Faye November 25, 2016 / 5:36 pm

They came, they tried, security worked. Dress up until you resolve the problem with customer service. Quack.

        • Julie November 25, 2016 / 6:58 pm

That sucks. I hope everything is okay. For sure, change your password.

          • allein ? November 25, 2016 / 7:53 pm

I called the customer service number and the guy unlocked my account. He said he didn’t see any failed attempts to log in; it might have happened because I haven’t logged in in a while. Changing my password anyway.

            • Faye November 25, 2016 / 8:23 pm

              Phew! Quacks to you.

I don’t need a costume. I am the genuine article!
I also have a small green bird sitting on my hand. Makes typing very difficult.

        • Faye November 25, 2016 / 9:33 pm

          Security Duckie at your service.

    It’s a wee piggypoo!

The OK Go video gives me hope that this generation of Millenials is not doomed.

    • fkaWaldenPond November 25, 2016 / 7:55 pm

And the song is catchy. 🙂

      • debg November 26, 2016 / 11:23 am

Some years back, when OK Go released their video for “White Knuckles,” CuteOverload featured it. It’s when I first discovered OK Go. That video is the bomb, by the way–as usual with their vids, it was shot in one take. With rescue dogs.

  6. Haha November 25, 2016 / 7:56 pm

I would like to experience the minds behind OK Go and Mike in the same room.

And, anxiety duck suit story was my sweetness quota for the day. 🙂

  7. BB/VA November 25, 2016 / 9:52 pm

ohboy ohboy, new OKGO! Thanks, Mike! Great video and really awesome song.

  8. Murray C. November 25, 2016 / 10:04 pm

I’ll bet Fat Boy wasn’t very fat when he came down. Poor animal, he must’ve been terrified.
Our neighbor’s cat was caught up a tree in our yard for at least a day and a half and a very nice tree guy brought his cherry picker to rescue him. Suffice to say we use him whenever we can to work on our trees.

Curly pig is a wonder – I wonder if his tail is straight?

And, Faye, we both sent in the same post! Brilliant minds.

    • fkaWaldenPond November 25, 2016 / 11:19 pm

Actually Murray C., besides making me do a big smiling snerk re curly tailio comment, it appears you are on to something– a few tails in those photos appear to be on the straightish side! 🙂

      • Faye November 26, 2016 / 7:39 am

All the curl was used up by time they got to the tail.

  9. N. Fritz November 26, 2016 / 1:25 am

There’s a great expression in German based on the woolly pigs: “an eierlegende Wollmilchsau”… that’s an “egg-laying woolly pig that also gives milk”… i.e. a person or thing that literally “can do it all”!

    • Faye November 26, 2016 / 7:38 am

      Hahaha.

    • Murray C. November 26, 2016 / 11:38 am

      Terrific!!!!

  10. Doug November 28, 2016 / 12:41 pm

That last video is a bit *cough* Saltie
