Ani sure does LOVE that kale!! Wish my bun, Freckles, likes it but, alas, that’s never gonna’ happen. She’ll only eat parsley!! I’ve tried every ‘green’ out there but she turns up her nose at all of them. She doesn’t like carrots, either. I sometimes wonder if she really IS a bunny!! She hops, has long floppy ears, bunny teefs, & a bunny nose so I guess that makes her a bunny. But her food likes is a puzzlement!!

Ok, this is adorable. Hands down goodness.
To the bun knowledgeable peeps, are bun’s lips like elephant’s trunk end? Like fingers? The dexterity of food movement is impressive. There is no way I could move my food around like that while eating it without using my fingers. Much less looking way less cute…
Also, merry and blessed to each and every one, whatever your day holds.

Their top lip is actually split in two. That’s why it looks like it has ‘fingers’.

    Merry Christmas, everybody!

I don’t what it is about bunnehs but I love to watch them eat! It’s so adorable.

Ani is simply adorable! There’s not much cuter than a bunch eating. It looks like she’s settling down nicely with you, Mike. I hope you’re having tons of fun with her!

The little crunching sounds are the best part! And Santa Bun always delivers. Hope you two are having a Happy Merry!

The relentless intake! The leep movement! The bunn level camera angle! And. The crunching!
I feel so healthy now just watching Ani eat.

So satisfying and Ani is beautiful.

I also love watching and listening to buns eat. The dexterity with their mouth is amazing. Mine will take a long stem of parsley and bend it in half, then seemingly inhale it. Looks like Ani had a good Christmas. One of my daughters listened to my hint for a Cutetropolis calendar and I got one!

Mike: I’m sure store produce is different now than when I was 20 something ( 40+ years ago). However, I would just point out for Ani’s safety that I had a pet bunny as a young person (Harvey), and at a picnic someone gave him (grocery store) lettuce that had not been carefully washed. Apparently, there were insecticides still on the leaves, and Harvey didn’t make it. If you can get greens that have not been sprayed, it will be much better for Ani’s health. Sorry to be a downer, but I wanted you to know.

It’s amazing how they hold onto the leaves with their lips and keep chomping away with their teeth. I always expect them to lift a paw up to guide the food into their mouths, but that never happens. Ani is adorable and you were so good to take him/her when your niece discovered her allergy.

Happy Holidays to you and yours. Thank you for this wonderful site from which we all get so much happiness. Sincerely, MCO

That is good advice for all of our critters that eat produce. I tend to buy the good insecticide-free organic stuff for my parrot, too. Better safe than sorry.

I too loved the wee crunching sounds.

Watching bunnies munch IS fascinating! Ani was especially dexterous with that kale! Bunny lips are very prehensile, according to my vet. I once adopted a bun with such bad malocclusion that his front teeth had to be pulled. As long as food was in small pieces Emmit had no problems getting them into his mouth!
