Shout-out today goes to Diane for starting a new monthly tip. Thank you! And it appears we have another new visitor at Cutetropolis, although a familiar face to many: Teddy Bear the Talking Porcupine! Looks like he had a very merry Christmas!
Oops, I forgot to credit Murray C. for sending the video. I’m sure Teddy would scold me for that.
“What is it?”
IT’S MINE!!!!!
Oh wow that is amazing. I have never heard of a pet porcupine. How incredibly cool. The squeaky little mewls are sooo sweet.
Teddy Bear is not a pet, he lives at a teaching zoo in Texas.

Sorry I said pet. I meant tame. Hope that’s the right word.
It’s OK, I just didn’t want anyone to think a porcupine would make a good pet. And you are right, Teddy Bear is very tame, he is not afraid of people or dogs, that is why he could never be release into the wild.
For sure!
I LOVE Teddy and am so glad to see him again. His joy at having corn and his concerned squeaking at any touching of it is top-of-the-line sweet and funny. And thanks for the link GiGi.
Teddy is a BOSS!
The whole thing is over the top: the squeaking, the silver serving platter, letting a wild animal eat corn on your living room carpet…
Yes, the silver platter is the perfect touch!
Welcome to Cutetropolis, Teddy Bear! We’ve missed your adorable squeaks.
This video was from Dec. 23, 2013. Check out the YouTube link and you’ll see this. I know we hadn’t seen him for a couple of years so I don’t know if he’s still alive. We used to get updates for all the holidays and then it stopped. Hopefully he’s still with us.
According to Teddy Bear’s page, he’s still alive making TV appearances and commercials, as well as private meet-and-greets at Zooniversity. The page also says Teddy also provided the voice of Sebastian the hedgehog in “The Hobbit”:

He has a Facebook page, too.

Thank goodness for a sound knowledge of good spells.
If anyone could save a hedgehog it’s Sylvester McCoy being Doctor Who and a Brown wizard ?
I’ll raise my cup to that.
Private meet-and-greets? That is awesome. You need to know the secret word and bring a pocketful of corn 😀
