Everytime I turn around, people keep taking my chew toys from my bed and putting them on their feet! Do you have any idea how bad that makes them smell?
So disrespectful, Murray C. (via Reshareworthy.)

“Yeah – smelling things up is MY job!”
I like how he hops over the side of the bed…or attempts to, at least.
Isn’t that the best? Phlumph!
I’ve come back and watched this several times now just for the phlumph!
You and me both!
More phlumphing on Pablo’s Instagram account.
Pablo! Good name! 🙂
Ok. Now the task is to define phlumph so future generations will be able to understand its magnitude, importance, and depth of calling.
When a chubular, stubular morsel has higher ideals and aspirations as to their ability to maneuver a jump of small stature, yet makes the minutest success, a phlumph has occurred.
That may narrow it just a WEE bit much – it’s onomatopoeic for a soft landing of a humorous nature.
Yep. I like yours for the ability of many applications. Rightly so master neologist!
HAH!
I had to search a bit for one that didn’t say “everyday”…
Oh thank goodness! I thought I was the only person to get irritated by that!
I think there are a bunch of grammar nerds around here. ?
Love the pudgy ‘oof’.
Anyone else get the “Cats parts” ad at the top of the page? I did a double take, wondering what NTMTOM was up to now! Realized it was for tools.
hehe .. I get 5.11 Tactical Gear .. then again .. I’m SAR guy (and I visit that site all the time..LOL)
I have a Comcast ad right now.
I got an LL Bean boot ad. It’s because I read an article about Trump tweeting support for LL Bean and the same article said that the LL Bean boot was their signature item, often wait-listed, so I had to go check out what an LL Bean boot looked like.
Growing up, my entire family wore what we just called “Bean Boots.” We ordered infrequently, because they last FOREVER, and you would draw the outline of your foot on a piece of paper to make sure they sent you the right size. Also moccasins. And slipper socks with leather bottoms. The best! And there’s a great Bert & I skit (“The Body in the Kelp”) that includes a bit about low boots vs. high boots, vs. “high boots turned down low.” Has to refer to Beans.
Marshall Dodge was a friend of mine but not until long after the “Bert and I” recordings. He was partly responsible for the kind of music I sing and love. What a wonderful man with a smile that could light up a room.
What a lucky pup you were! My family quoted his recordings endlessly (I still do), and I was delighted to see him speak in person during a college tour in the mid-70s. Genius.
Yes, I was! He died so tragically, bicycling in Hawaii and hit by a hit and run driver. Within the last few years the person was found and arrested – don’t know beyond that.
I got an ad for a Nissan Sentra.
That was fun!
I got “StyleWe” fashion retailer.
As long as there is no Toe-jam, the pupper should be ok.
I’m in love with stubborn little puppers, even though I’m a car person. Such determination! Such chubbular folds! Such rounded tumminess!
Car??
Cat. Still learning to retype with my bandaged hand!
How is your hand, Debg? Are you functioning OK? When do bandages come off – did you get the stitches out, I can’t remember.
And, Mike, I’m having to check the Notify box every time I comment whereas before it was automatically checked once the first comment was made. Is it something new?
Stitches come out tomorrow, and I’ve adapted really well. I’ve been releasing my middle finger so I can knit, as a week without knitting was like a week without sunshine, chocolate, kitties, or ice cream. Minimal pain as I heal.
Excellent! I hope all goes well.
Well, dogs chase cars!
Phlumph….chubbular…I’m learning such wonderful words here!
I’ve seen chubbular before, but phlumph is a new one. I like it. (Even if Chrome’s spellcheck doesn’t.)
I think I made it up.
It’s a good word.
We need a glossary, I think.
Yes, I approve of this new word. I also approve of this pupster’s chubbularity and determination!
My old dog Scamp used to pull my dad’s slippers and socks off just like this. He didn’t take them to bed, though.
Maybe he was peeling them off to get to the chewy bits underneath.
Well, I must say “duh” on all accounts.
And the phlumphing is icing.
i hesitate to write this as i might get a reputation as a prevert, but don’t you just want to have your way with that belleh?
?You betcha – on the belleh, not your being a pervert. Wait, that didn’t come out quite right, uh, hmmmm…
Ms Can Opener, we all know what you mean. And did you ever stop to think that the belleh might be having its way with you?
Gah! There’s just nothing so chubbular nor so round as a Bulleh Belleh.
There’s a song in that……
So, um…I think I’m being stalked. Or it’s treat time. One of those…
They’re trying to hypnotize you – into giving them a treat.
Is that Stars and Stripes?!?
Yay! Pretty kittys!
And good job to the parental units for picking decor to match and support the beauty of the felines.
Yup. Stripes is on the left. The floor is older than they are, but it goes nicely especially with Stars’s gray fur. When I first turned around (I was cutting carrots at the counter) Stars was on the other side, and it was slightly creepier, because they were sitting there staring at me and I didn’t know they were there. Then I went to get the phone to get a picture and when I came back they scattered but came back quickly. I did not get the treats quickly enough, though, and got a very indignant “mrow!” from Stripes.
Murray C. – my mom always gives them treats before she goes to bed. They know what time it is.
(And as I’m typing this, silent Stars came over and tapped me on the arm. Last night she scratched her paws against my back through the slats of the chair…I’m trying to figure out how to get her to do that for, oh, maybe 10 or 15 minutes…so far no luck.)
OK, we now have a “Phlumph” tag. I encourage everyone to call out additional examples of “phlumphing” in past and future posts.
There was a good one recently when a German Shepherd was it? phlumphed into about 3 feet of snow.
You are the bestest!! Big smiles!
When I have some time, I’ll have to go through past posts and fill up that ‘Phlumph’ page.
Phlumph. I love it.
