Happy weekend! Let’s get our Saturday off to a contemplative start with this picture from reader LaurenΒ P. “The pic of the pup in profile reminded me of this one I took of my cat Peyton. A noble beast, deep in thought.”

Good morning! I think the technical problems of the last few days are behind us, but time will tell. Of course, I’ll continue to keep a close eye on things.
Ani the rabbit is doing well. Her cage is in a room I use as an office, so we keep each other company. I’m always pleased when I can see her do a “happy flop,” a sign that a rabbit is contented, and I managed to capture one on camera:
Aww…I love when I catch a bun doing a flop, too!??
My doggie does a flop like that. When she does it, it means “Time for belly rubs.”
The main page opened ok, but this page took over a minute to load and then came out looking like I had asked to view the “no page style” version. I’ll go clear cookies and stuff and try again. (It’s asking for the current year? Is that a new spam detection thing?)
Wow, that’s very strange and not something I’ve experienced yet, so I’m grateful you told me about it. I have no idea what the “current year” thing is supposed to mean.
I just reloaded the page (in Firefox) going the the view menu and selecting “page style>no style” and the current year thing shows up again.
Ok the comment went through after about 20 seconds and the page now looks normal (Hi Ani!). Weird. And now the whole “current year” question is gone. Double weird.
Both Peyton and Ani are just gorgeous. Congrats Mike on her being so relaxed she’ll flop by you, that’s one contented bun bun. Too much going on this weekend that my head is just spinning. After a couple days of vacay seeing hubster in Hawaii, I’m back to the grind and I just want to run away. Right now I’m juggling long weekends to see him, long weekends to see my Mom and then my landlord decides to sell so add moving (and doing it all myself!) in the next 60 days to the mix. All I keep telling myself is this too shall pass. Keeps life interesting, that’s for sure!
Pussycat a is very wise. And Ani is SO adorable – I’m happy for both of you to have such warm companionship. My little bun Clementine has suddenly taken to be very destructive and is making an awful mess, clawing and chewing the protective covering on the floor. Then I have to put down cardboard and that makes a mess. Sigh.
Getting ready for houseguests – staying for a WEEK! Not sure I can cope – lots to do around here now that spring has finally sprung and that the garden was never properly put to bed last spring because of my shoulder surgery. It’s a rip snorting mess out there. But compared to you, AJ, I have it easy, so to quote my husband’s grandfather, “Mustn’t grumble”.
PS I had to fill in name and email again – had to do that yesterday as well, tho’ I don’t seem to be having the downloading problems others have mentioned.
Ani can be destructive as well. She’s chewed portions of that carpet you see in the picture, and I’ve had to cover areas with cardboard or block off corners too. I also have old bedsheets and pillows on the floor, and if she scratches on those, I leave her alone. But if she digs at the carpet I tell her “no” followed by a gentle spray from a water bottle.
Was just thinking about Ani & wondering how she’s doing! What a sweet little buddy you have. Page popped right up for me, no delays or anything unusual on my iPad mini. Happy Saturday to all (oops, my Honey kitty indignantly just reminded me that it is CATurday, so sorry!) and wishing sunshine & spring to all.
Good morning Mike and the NTMteam! Gorgeous pix. Ani looks so relaxed & happy.
Snow flurries here this morning, but it’s slated to be 70s (possibly 80?) by Tuesday.
Went to the dump this morning, off to the Laundromat tomorrow.
Today’s my last day of a Prednisone taper (powerful anti-inflammatory Rx that reduces my pain and gives me more energy) so today I’m trying to finish household projects before I turn back into a pumpkin. Prepping healthy noms, clearing clutter, putting up new apartment number over the door, etc.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Happy Saturday! Thoughtful kitty and flopped bunny are a good way to start a weekend of chores. I have until the 18th to make my house somewhat presentable so the dryer vent cleaning guy can come do his work. Hopefully a deadline will help get me in gear.
Happy Caturday all! Peyton and Ani are so lovely!
A lovely quiet weekend ahead of me–so different from last weekend, with Yarn Fest and houseguests. Pro tip for Murray C: nobody minds if you do a happy dance the second houseguests leave! It was stressful for some of the less-socialized cats, having company. Plus all the excitement of Yarn Fest, which I want to rename Germ Fest: yes, I caught a slight cold. It was worth it, for all the yarn and fiber fun, however.
Once I finish some weekend errands, I need to fix the garage door opener and then I can PLAY. The new electric spinning wheel has been calling to me all week. Plus my guest used my rigid heddle loom to make a lovely scarf, and now I want to warp it up for a quick project–I’ve had it since early 2015 and haven’t yet used it. Finally, I *may* finish Sweater #6 for 2017.
Out downtown with my husband, I had to return a pair of shoes I bought yesterday (note to self: don’t buy shoes when you’ve been on your feet all day)
Happy Caturday! Love Ani’s “happy flop!” That is one relaxed bun!
I’m recovering from having a bottom molar extracted yesterday (ugh!), so my plan for the day involves lying on the recliner and doing nothing. I have a cat who has that exact same plan every day so she’ll be keeping me company. Luckily I also have a husband who’s great about taking over chores for the weekend. π
Sounds like folks are having a good weekend. We’re in New Orleans for French Quarter Festival and then a few more days sightseeing, check out the old haunts, see how things have come back since Katrina. We were here in 2007 and saw things nearly at their worst, but a lot has come back. Including the crowds for French Quarter Festival! It’ll be fun. Everybody have a good week!
Looooong stressful week. If work hasn’t been bad enough, Lily went missing for ~5 hours on Tuesday evening. Scared the sh*t out of me. The arthritis in my knees has been really bad of late, but I still went walking around for hours looking for her and calling until I was hoarse. I can still hardly walk after days of maxed out painkillers. She finally came back on her own at almost 11pm (I left the back door blocked open for her) and I gave her a sound scolding… after a hug and some treats, of course!
She’s been grounded all week, which she hasn’t been happy about, but I finally let her out again this morning. Now she’s happily tracking mud everywhere because of the big storm we had last night. Parenthood is hell, isn’t it? π
Bunbun looks so content, and Kitty photo..is that tuna in oil or water or fresh?
Our little 6 peeps are all getting big, growing feathers and showing their personalities, still waiting to officially name them then, all names are still on the table, hubby is outside just now fixing up the old hen house for them to move into soon, then in a few weeks they should be big enough to…..go outside for some adventures!
Page loaded up for me with no problems π
Julie 1, Julie Dos, Julie Trois, Julie Quattro, Julie Pente, Julie Sechs.
Easy peasy done! Ha ha ha!
and a Julie-Moo! π
I haven’t got plans this weekend. The husband is taking his grandkids to a rodeo. It’s our local Sheriff volunteer mounted patrol, and my daughter’s SO is a volunteer, so they are working the concession stand. Rodeo ain’t my kinda thing, so I am not going. My cable box is broken, and after 2 days of dealing with their online tech, nothing was solved. The latest agent told me there was maintenance on that right now and expect it to be solved within 3 hrs. Yeah, it’s been 2 days already, pretty sure it has nothing to do with maintenance being performed. I’ll wait until Monday and go to the local office and exchange this box for a different one. I will also complain about being without TV for 4 days and being forced to listen to the husband wear headphones, listen to music, and sing badly, and no one should have to endure that kind of torture. They’ll probably give me a $5 discount on my cable bill.
I can tell the weather is spring-like, even if I never went outside. I live on a busy street and there are a lot of motorcycles passing by today. Sophie barks at motorcycles. Sophie also tries to herd the cats. If someone says “cat, get out of there” she will bark and go chase them away from whatever they are climbing on.
Cable company SHOULD credit your bill for the 4 days without service. Since you’ve called in there will be a record. I HATE my cable company and went through a nightmare of problems when I moved. I feel your pain.βΉοΈ
Hee hee hee! π π π
It’s an unbelievably warm day in York, so I took my dad to our local park to admire the spring flowers….and on the way back one of the tyres came off his wheelchair for no apparent reason (fortunately we were almost home at the time). I’m now back at work on my great-great-uncle by marriage’s family tree, which is quite an undertaking as he was the illegitimate son of a baronet’s daughter and an earl. I can safely say that I have NEVER been so well-informed about the kings of England and Scotland!
It’s Sunday; curl up with a good book and have some cake.

Well, Spring is here as the motorcycles and leaf blowers are out in full force. *grumble*
