Fiona the preemie hippo has passed the 200-pound mark and continues to grow and have tons of fun. She’s especially fond of being sprayed with the garden hose.

Eeep! I hope this little one does as well as Fiona—but maybe not hitting 207 lbs so fast.

There’s a link in the article to a bunch of pictures of babies (and one excited nurse) who are on Team Fiona on their facebook page. Some are sad, with all the tubes and wires and whatnot, but all so cute.

Also, a joke, in honor of Fiona surpassing 200 lbs.

What’s the difference between a hippo and a Zippo?

One is really heavy, and the other is a little light.

I could watch her play with her hose all day. As luck would have it, I’m wearing my sweatshirt!

She’s so happy she could incubate a hose.

    I’ll show my self out…

    I love this one: “I’m a celebrity! What’s a celebrity?”

That is too cute by half.

Fiona’s getting ready for summer! Taking a drink from the hose, like all kids do.

    • Murray C May 5, 2017 / 4:24 pm

That’s a dangerous thing to do – tho’ I certainly did it as a kid – but they tell us now that you can get salmonella doing that – at least let it run for a while before you do. Our hoses always have this spray nozzle ends on them anyway – not much fun to drink from, you could blow your cheeks off.

You have to water your hippo, or it’ll never grow.

    Though they are self-fertilizing.

That’s something that worried me – the caretakers in the water with her – they do their business in the water, don’t they????? I’m such an old f**t.
