“Oh, hello. You caught me just as I was about to take my first mud bath. Frankly, I’m still having trouble wrapping my mind around the whole concept of how ‘mud’ and ‘bath’ fit together, but mom and dad seem to enjoy it, so what the heck.”
Via Imgur.
Can I pet him for an hour or two before he goes under? Pretty please?!?!
Squee!
Oh, YES!
It’s a bath if it’s liquid and you’re immersed in it; has nothing to do with cleanliness or even required to be water. In chemistry they have ‘acid baths’ and in biology ‘nutrient baths’ neither of which I would want to dip my skinny into!
Good point!
OK this is world class cute!
Well, there goes the rest of MY day. Just gonna sit here and sqweeee!
Want!!!!
I C no warts .. so how can it be a wart hog ?
To everybody saying that they want one: Remember, they grow into this. Hakuna matata!
He looks so proud of himself!
OK I wouldn’t want one in my house but I still think he’s cute ?
Good response, NTMTOM. I wonder how many are squeeing now. The baby is squee worthy but not this adult, at least not to me. So often the adult animal doesn’t grow up to be as cute.
As long as the grownup continues to watch Lion King with me, I’m willing to love him/her.
He is rather wonderful tho’ I do agree, not so much in the “squee” sense.
See, this is what I thought of after I got over the automatic squeeing–how can something so cute grow up into something…eh…NOT so cute? ?
Still loving baby warthog.
But then there’s this: Fiona greets Mommy Bibi with no “howdy mesh” between them.
I don’t know how to “unFacebook” the link. Maybe NTMTOM can figure it out.
Oh my. I seem to remember it being said that they wouldn’t realize they were mother and daughter but would relate as fellow hippos. They seemed friendly. I’m thinking it’s especially moving for Fiona since she has had so little contact with her own species.
The staff have given them together time before this, and maybe they do it more often than they document on the blog. It would be nice if Bibi could understand that Fiona is her daughter.
Oh my indeed! So wonderful to watch Fiona and her mum.
Oh wow! I thought Fiona was plumping out nicely but she is so tiny compared to Mama Bibi!!
Right! She looks big girl when you see her with her keepers but next to mama she looks small and fragile.
I like how she tries to nom mom. 🙂
Wasn’t that good!!!??? And Mom didn’t mind.
