“Hey there, buddy! Zip Zipperson, regional sales manager for Sloth Life Insurance Company. Say, you look like a fellow who could use the peace of mind of a fully comprehensive life insurance policy. You got a minute?”

I’ll just get this out of the way now:

What a funny face – on the sloth as well as the guy who gets punched! Sloth teeth are really interesting – very human.
Remember this? https://www.petcha.com/dog-finds-dentures-and-cant-stop-smiling-trending/
Yeah, I’d never seen sloth teeth before–COOL.
He must’ve had a good orthodontist.
Haha Mike! Groundhogs Day is my number one movie in my top ten! Looks just like him!
Character actor Stephen Tobolowsky – and he hasn’t changed a bit! (thanks, IMDb)
Vaguely disturbing.
When a cat smiles, people get nervous. How are we supposed to feel when a sloth smiles?
I, too, find it vaguely disturbing. I don’t think that’s a smile per say, which is why I’m nervous about it. (Like, chimps smiling is not a good thing, it shows anger or aggression.) But I do love sloths!
The smile makes me think of
Simon & Garfunkel’s 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy)”
Slow down, you move too fast
You got to make the morning last
Just kicking down the cobblestones
Looking for fun and feelin’ groovy
Ba da da da da da da, feelin’ groovy
Hello, lamppost, what’cha knowin’?
I’ve come to watch your flowers growin’
Ain’t’cha got no rhymes for me?
Doot-in doo-doo, feelin’ groovy
Ba da da da da da da, feelin’ groovy
I got no deeds to do
No promises to keep
I’m dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me
Life, I love you
All is groovy
Probably the universal sloth anthem…
There was an Irving Berlin song called:
“Lazy – I wanna be lazy,
I’m longing to lay in the sun with no work to be done
Under that awning they call they sky
Stretching and yawning
And watch the world go drifting by….. and my favorite line
I want a great big valise-full
Of books to read where it’s peaceful
While I’m killing time
Being Lazy.”
It’s high time to put together the Official Sloth Songbook! But I’m too tired to start.
Snerk.
Took my two and three year olds from work on a field trip to a museum of natural history today where we saw an ancestor of this smiley guy; a giant sloth named Rusty! Even giant sloths were pretty cute!
