I watch Mason and his kittens pretty frequently on Youtube, where Tinykittens now streams. Mason’s life is amazing.

Melting pom reminds me of my long-haired cat. She’s all floof until she gets a bath. Then she’s all bones and rage. So much rage. Right now, she’s locked in a bathroom cubicle (with food, water, litter, and an old blanket in a box, of course) because I am working up the courage to give her the scrubbing she so desperately needs. If we both survive the day unscathed and not covered in feces, it will be a miracle.

Should we light a candle for you both?
Love that description: all bones and rage. So much Rage.
Ricky's MomJuly 28, 2017 / 11:05 am
Good luck, AB! I’ve had to give up washing Ricky (Maltese dog) myself; he just wasn’t trained for it young enough. He was always good in the bath, but forget drying him. If he couldn’t roll around on a textile surface for extra matting power, he was not interested. So now I throw money at the problem; he’s very good at the groomers’. I can’t begin to imagine washing a long-haired cat!
Ricky has lost so much weight he just looks like a ribcage and some Q-tips when he’s wet, or closely cut. I’ve tried everything; he eats well, he’s on a vet-approved diet; he just can’t keep any weight on.

I’m sorry. That must be very upsetting.
Ricky's MomJuly 28, 2017 / 5:53 pm
Well, it doesn’t seem to bother Ricky, which is a plus. But thank you DUBRAVKAMCVMD, as it does bother me a bit. But the vet says it’s not unusual in a senior dog (Ricky is 15). Ricky has all sorts of things wrong with him, but he’s plenty feisty, and still enjoying life. I wish he enjoyed cuddling more, like he used to, as I really miss that. But this is where we are. With all the difficulties, I still love him to pieces.

I euthanized my Minkette at 22. She had kidney disease and the last nine months of her life were not great – I took her to the vet for hydration three or four times a week – but I loved her so much. She had never been the friendliest cat – she liked me, actually grew to love me, but other humans were suspect. Those last months, she understood I was helping her and she cared more deeply for me. I’ll bet Ricky understands what you’re doing for him.

My old kitty is the same way–she always had a ballerina-like physique when she was younger (even when free fed!), but now she’s just a scraggly old bag of bones. She also developed a crackly old-lady voice to go with her new look, so she’s basically a screeching hag-cat (especially if I’m five minutes late with breakfast). Old pets are the best!!

OMG, my cat is like that too. I’ll be sitting quietly and I hear this LOUD caterwaul and nearly jump out of my skin. And leave her outside for a few minutes too long and, boy, do you hear abut it! In direct proportion to the amount of time over what she deems to be appropriate. Purdy is about 18 now, but she looks amazing, her fur is beautiful, she’s sturdy but not fat, eats well. I think her thyroid meds are doing her good.

I like the lighting a candle thing – good idea. Good luck, AB! I’ve never tried to bath my cat – she acts like I’m killing her when I apply flea meds to the back of her neck.
ABJuly 28, 2017 / 8:06 pm
Thanks, all for the lit candles and good wishes! Turns out I was able to trim off the poo-encrusted mats with scissors, so my girl kept her dignity, and I still have unbroken skin! She’s 17, so I try to spare her any stress I can and not overdo it with the grooming.

Absolutely love the Husky mom, Mason and the melting Pomeranian.
A kitty that plays dead and a shark that cuddles? Now I’ve seen everything. 🙂
Gigi the cat ladyJuly 28, 2017 / 12:35 pm
People who take in cats with advanced kidney disease like Mason or who don’t think twice about having a dogs give birth in the back of a Mercedes are my kind of people.
We need more of them in this world!
Murray CJuly 28, 2017 / 1:50 pm
Yes, they are good souls.
I love the little shark – how cute is that? And the pow-reactive kitten is a real scenery chewer, isn’t she. And the pups and the melting pom – so adorable.

Off topic – we haven’t heard from Birdcage for a while, have we??????? Am concerned.
Doesn’t seem to be any link associated with Pow! Ya Got Me!
Mason the cat and cuddling shark … lovely way to start the day.
I don’t get a link for Pow! either. Grandpa Mason had me in tears.
Sorry about the missing video at the end of the post, folks. I’m tracking that down now.
It’s lolatheroomcat on instagram who gets shot!
