Since Maru has demonstrated more than once that he thinks he’s a catfish, there’s only one way for Mugumogu to play with him: Get out the ol’ fishing pole and reel him in.
Wonder what she uses for bait? Maybe Andrew Y. can let minnow.

A fish with feathers? Is it a parrotfish?
From the intense face smooshing and licking when he grabs it, I’m guessing there’s some ‘nip in there.
Is it bad that I thought of the “fresh fish” scene from The Shawshank Redemption and the guy yelling “reelin’ ’em in!”? (That guy, btw, is Morgan Freeman’s son, and also “plays” Freeman’s character’s mug shot.)
Haven’t watched the vid yet, but HAD to write to Mike to say, your play on words got a surprise guffaw out of me this AM! ? Here’s to you!??
Agree! Mike, I don’t know how you come up with this stuff, but it’s always so clever!
And, Maru sure loves the ‘nip!
Maru and puns always make for a good day!
There’s always a plaice for fish puns.
NICELY done.
Mugumogu is trying to turn Maru into a stalking predator, but he prefers to be an ambush predator. And by ambush predator, I mean, he wants the prey to brush across the front of his mouth so he can grab it.
And I agree there must be either nip or fish oil or something attractive in that lure, because they weren’t just pursuing it because it was moving and jingling, they were licking it once they had it.
Yeah, my cats turn into fliers when a cat wand comes out.
I got them a toy stuffed with nip yesterday and it’s already been ripped open, leaving small dried bits all over the floor. Ah, well. They’re happy.
