Those cat snapchats are wonderful. Cats really do have star quality. PS I got my calendar and I’m agonizing over whether to go through it now or wait for each month.

Definitely go through it now! I love mine and have gone through it a few times already. Imagine what a tragic loss it would be if the earth was blotted out by an asteroid impact this evening and you never got to the see it??!! Carp diem! π

Very good point! LOL

Besides, by February you’ll forget what they were, anyway, and be surprised all over again. π
Or maybe that’s just me.

That reminds me, I should probably turn the page. I wonder what awaits for December!

It’s not just you.

Lulu says my calendar is at the post office in my town as of yesterday afternoon so I guess I should get it today.
I ordered another package from adagio.com, which is in Garfield, which is in north Jersey. It went from Fedex in South Hackensack, NJ to somewhere southwest of Allentown, PA, then back to East Brunswick, NJ (which is just down the road from where I work), and is now in transit to the post office as of 1:16 this morning. Weird. Hopefully I get that today and I can pick it up on my way home (it’s going to my parents’ house).

Hah! Yesterday I received a parcel that had been sent to the sorting office at Leeds, about 20 miles away from where I live. Then for some reason it was sent to Wales and from there to York…

Just ordered my calendar…can’t wait to receive it!

My calendar hasn’t arrived yet, but apparently it reached NYC, and should get to me later today (with any luck). I will try to wait for each month before turning those pages. More to look forward to that way!
I admire your fortitude. I cannot resist the urge to look at ALL the kitties and make all the appropriate noises of appreciation.*
*It’s a good thing it’s cold and the windows are closed and the neighbors can’t hear me, or they might call the medics to check on the crazy neighbor making strange squealing noises… π

I haven’t gotten mine yet – it seems an awfully long time since I ordered it!

I didn’t go through all the pet-proof Christmas trees, but I think my favorite is the one who just put lights on the cat tree..
Luckily our cats have never been all that interested in the tree itself; they just like to nap on the (hand-embroidered-by-my-grandmother) tree skirt. I still make sure not to put breakable ornaments on the bottom, because Stripes will sometimes “investigate” them.
I bought that Fiona sweatshirt yesterday! So adorable! That also happens to be my favorite Christmas song =)

pet proofing the christmas tree with vacuum cleaners. That is just genius. π

That was one of my favorites! And, I could watch that kitty play with her feetsies all day.

And hilarious.

That fence/gate around the xmas tree wouldn’t last 2 minutes in my home. My little Dancer Girl crawls up any pet gate, even stacked 2 high to get down the stairs.
We hang miniture stockings by the fireplace for all the kitties and dogs, past and present. Miniature fake tree with miniature ornaments up high on a cabinet where no cat has ever been interested in exploring – yet.
Minimalist holiday decorations. I do like the idea of the lights on the cat tree. I may try that one!

When my kids were little, I had an old wooden playpen. It was too old to use for kids, so I removed the bottom of it, painted it white and put the Christmas tree inside. With no mantle, I hung the stockings from the rail on the front of the playpen, along with some garland. I really haven’t had problems with pets and the tree, but toddlers liked to mess with it, and the playpen kept the toddlers away. I don’t even put a tree up, since the kids are grown, and we do Christmas at their houses.

I’m in love with Mango Brown the Bengal–what a lovely kitty! And those holiday tree workarounds had me in hysterics. Not to mention teensy ginger feetsies; love it when kittens discover their feet.
