Some readers reported seeing a scary security message when trying to view Cutetropolis. To correct this, the site is now operating in secure mode. For more information,
What is secure mode?
Secure mode encrypts all data coming to and from you and Cutetropolis so that nobody can see it as it passes across the Internet. This includes the email addresses you may include with comments.
Do I need to do anything?
No, you should be able to browse the site just as you always have. You may notice that the site’s address now begins with “https” instead of “http” and your browser displays a “secure” symbol next to it.
The site forgot who I was!
When commenting, you may need to retype your name and email the first time. The site should remember your entries again after that.
I can’t see some pictures!
Yeah, I noticed that videos and pictures from Instagram aren’t loading under the new arrangement. I’m looking into a solution, but I may have to start avoiding Instagram in the short term.
I hadn’t noticed the new security measure, but I did notice that the Instagram picture in one site didn’t load. Easy solution for now: Click on the missing picture and look at it in Instagram. Problem (at least temporarily) solved!
Thanks for watching out for us, Mike, as always!
Thanks for security–I’d noticed that previously, we weren’t secure.
Is that why it forgot who I was?
Ah, yes — you may need to manually fill in the comment fields again, but the comment form should remember your entries for next time.
Cool
Thanks, Mike, we appreciate your concern.
Thanks, Mike!
Good move Mike!
“The site forgot who I was”
Well as long as I remember who I was, there is no problem!
Hmmm… I can’t connect to Cutetropolis via Safari – I’m on Firefox at the moment. Anyone else have this problem? It could also just be me and my computer.
Try clicking here or visiting https://cutetropolis.com (with “https” instead of “http”)
That address isn’t working for me either. But I’m thinking it’s probably my computer. I’ve had some strange things going on with Neflix as well. I’ve switched to Chrome in the meantime and that is working very nicely! So for now… I’ll be visiting you on Chrome.
Thanks for all you do for us. 🙂
It’s a problem with Safari; see my other replies to you.
Tara, I researched your problem, and it appears that Safari requires stricter security than I paid for. I will see if I can fix this, but can’t promise that I’ll be able to get Safari working again. I’m sorry, I didn’t foresee this happening.
