I’m going to get one of these for my birthday.
No matter what.
OOOOO, like the wombat roadsign!
They are very endearing animals but, boy, can they be obstreperous! Especially when they’re full grown.
Either that, or go here

And have a grand time making my own. They have other patterns, too, and I could see me doing this as an in-home business.
I have made several of the Funky Friends Wombats! They turn out great!
CANNED wombat????? *faints*
I know, right? ?It says it’s a joke tho, thank god!
And for us knitters, here’s a couple of great options:
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wombat-3
and
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wombat
The first is more accurate, I think; the second has a rather exaggerated nose for a wombat.
And all crafty wombat creation aside, that’s a very smart — and of course ridiculously cute! — little wombaby hitching a ride. I guess if you’re too big for the pouch, you need to find a net alternative!
I have tried and tried to find that first pattern, with no success. So I sewed one from the pattern Duckie linked above! Will try to post pix later (they’re taking forever to jump through cyberspace).
I dug around on the internet and found a copy of the booklet on Australian eBay! I’ve just ordered it, so I suggest you do some digging around. Just search for “Aussie Animals #977” and there’s at least one knitting shop in Australia selling it for AU$20.50, too. Plus postage, of course. It has not just the wombat, but the most *fabulous* Tasmanian devil, a bilby, one of those lizards who pops out a huge neck collar, an emu, and several more! It’s a great collection!
Can’t believe I never thought of that–you’re a genius!
I’m having trouble finding it. Might you have a link? I’d much rather buy a whole book.
Google ebay australia and then search as Murray C indicated. There were 2 booklets that I saw.
Swear! They’re for knitting. Oh, well, back to the funky drawing board.
I need a CROCHET version, however.?
Try Megan Kreiner for crochet patterns on Ravelry. She does lots of cute critters.
That’s one lazy wombaby and one tolerant mombat! Reminds me of an acquaintance of mine who pushed her (perfectly healthy) first grader in a stroller.
Baby looked sleepy–I could almost hear its little eye capsules plinking. You can come nap with me, tiny one. Mom’s invited too.
Wouldn’t that be nice. By the way, when you’re knitting a wombat, did you place something firm in its lower back area? Apparently they have a plate of cartilage or bone that protects them in their burrows and when, sadly, they get hit by a car they can do real damage to the car! I think that would be a very interesting inclusion when creating a facsimile!
I noticed that too! The baby looks like s/he’s about to drift off.
My wombat.
It’s prosh, Debg!!
That’s terrific, DEBG!!!
Wow, nice wombat!
And another view.
Wow! Great Wombat. That is way beyond my skill level.
Is anyone up to felting cubed shaped Wombat poop!
You can get them through Amazon.
What search words!?
I’m kinda wondering exactly how wombaby got up there…
On a side note, Mike, it seems my issues with the site “not working” in Chrome has something to do with my cookies, because I cleared just the Cutetropolis cookies and it worked when I reloaded. Now I’m trying to determine which are the ones that remember my name and email so I can delete everything else if needed and see if that works in the future.
(And, apparently, you can bookmark a specific search in cookies. That’s handy. Now I’m hungry for cookies.)
Cookies were created to be eaten not to be deleted! (Too bad only pacman can eat them out of a computer.)
Wokka wokka wokka!
Awesome 🙂 🙂 🙂
Saw at Kohls last weekend:
(The suit, not the guy, sadly.)
Haha “worn to be wiiiiiiild 🙂 “
They also had one with storm trooper helmets.
I love the pacman one for let’s say a Christmas party, but I don’t know how it feels when someone wears such a spectacular pattern. I have caught myself unconsciously following the possible routes for pacman with my eyes… so others may do it too.
IRL I usually behave in a decent way, I don’t follow pacman to places where I am not invited to, but if I wore a women’s version, I would feel all the eyes are on me. (Maybe being stared at is less stressful men though, who knows)
Sleepy baby.
