649 pounds! Happy Birthday, Fiona!!
And Happy Birthday Jimmy, too!
And Daisy, Betsy, Clarabelle, and Moo! (Love the names!)
Love all the animal birthdays and surprises. Scout the cat stole my heart, and the wall of sorrow was sheer brilliance.
Thanks for the laughs today, Mike. I’ve been sad since I heard of Ursuka Le Guin’s death. She’s been my favorite writer since I was 19, and my Ursie-cat is named for her.
What impressed me was her ability to create worlds succinctly and without five prequels. (eyes specific male genre writers…) That gentlemen, takes talent.
Also loved when she smacked down (gently) Margaret Atwood who all “I write real novels, not scifi” and told her that of course some of her items were scifi and that she should be proud of them regardless of the categorization.
Fiona’s got some stiff link competition today! I adore the cow-spotted puppies!!
Happy birthday Fiona and Jimmy! It’s not my birthday button I have a dogcow anyway?
Love the wall of sorrow and the fact that the dad adopted an older cat. ?
Cat has enough sense to seek out the alpha and make friends/curry favor.
And now I want curry for lunch.
I’m envisioning that golden retriever now on a special episode of Maury.
Are you the father? Is this your Baby Daddy?
Somehow this “wall of sorrow” disturbs me a bit.
I can totally understand the child’s need for a companion, I also grew up with multiple dogs and cats (chickens, ducks and pigs) but I am not sure I liked the method she had chosen. It feels like an introductory course to emotional blackmail, I feel she might have gone a bit too far with “killing innocent lives” (how to kill lives? nvm). The parents rewarded this behaviour although I applauded the father’s decision to adopt an older cat.
I know I am old-fashioned, I have never been in the girls’ shoes and I never brought up children but it still doesn’t feel right to me.
(“see their so sad” and “your letting them die” – brrrr)
Yes, I know I am a monster 🙂
I felt the same Em –remember though, pre-teens and full-blown teens bathe in drama– (well, that is the justification I gave myself after reading it.) 😉
You’re not a monster, Ems. If that was my daughter, I would have taught her the correct usage of “your” and “their” before adopting a cat! I don’t think that’s cruel; I think that’s good parenting. The child wants something? Fine, so does the adult. That turns it into a bargain, so it’s not so much emotional blackmail!
Tributes pour in for Princess Fiona on her birthday!
This one MIGHT be photoshopped:
Our big strong girl! Yay!
Happy birthday, Fiona! I never, ever thought I would fall so in love with a hippo, but Fiona has proven that lovable creatures come in all shapes and sizes!
Also, I showed my husband the picture of the dog with the spotted puppies, and asked him what breed he thought the dad was. His reply? “Holstein?” 😀 😀 😀
Heehee!!
🙂 🙂 🙂
I would like to see when Goldiemum teaches the moocows to bark at the moon.
Goldiemum: All repeat after me: wooooof
Moocows: mooooo(f)
Cow-wow!
Would that make them mooncalves?
I see that Fiona comes naturally to her cuteness – Miss Bibi was all about wanting more lettuces!
I’m continually amazed that on nothing but lettuce and other veggies that a creature can grow to be almost 2 tons. I’m rethinking my diet!!!!?
Oh that explains a lot about my weight gain and makes me scared at the same time.
Thankfully I am not 2 tons … yet 🙂
Have you recovered from the illness, Murray?
Happy birthday, Fiona!
