When I hold your hand, it makes me feel safe and loved. It tells me that you will always be here for me. That everything will be all right. The touch of your hand is reassuring because I know that it is this hand — this gentle, tender, loving hand — that operates the can opener.

Renewed good vibes to Ricky would be awfully welcome. Later today, we’re going for our fourth vet visit since last Friday.
I could use some of that husky pizza, too, as comfort food. Instead, I’m going to make myself a salad. (Poof! I’m a salad!)
Good vibes on their way Ricky’s mom! Keep us posted on how Ricky is doing.
Best wishes to Ricky and to you as well!
Awwww. Good wishes Rickyโs Mom.
Thinking of you and Ricky. Crossed fingers and paws! ๐
Good luck! I’m hoping hard for the best!
We’re all holding your hand, Ricky’s Mom. And Ricky’s paw. Sending feathered hugs your way.
Best wishes to Ricky! I am going through the old dog business, too, with my lab. I hope your little guy turns a corner and has some good tail wags left!
Sending healing purrs.
Aw, I’ll hold your hand, puppy!
Best wishes to Ricky. I hope the vet visit goes well.
Such a darling picture. So much love between those two.
Thanks to everyone for their good vibes, whether expressed here or not.
Ricky has three new medications: two started tonight, one to start if/when his immediate health crises (collapsing trachea cough spasms, diarrhea) clear up.
I was fearful that I would be told this was the end, so this is actually good news. But knowing that, I go back to “normal” and report that the stench in my home is beyond belief. Imagine the monkey house at a Very Bad Zoo and you’ll have some idea. And this is with nearly constant cleaning. I. Am. Ex. Hausted.
But not too exhausted to send love from Ricky and me to all of you, and especially Mike for this wondrous, wonderful place.
This is good news. An elderly pet in crisis is such an emotional rollercoaster. Having lived through it myself I know that one really good thing is the baby you’re caring for knows that you’re caring and helping.
I am glad to hear this (the medication part, not the smell and exhaustion part). Here’s hoping that it works quickly and everybody feels better soon. ๐
I can’t even handle how cute that lab puppy is! My yellow lab is 13 and looks like some sort of creepy Jim Henson creature with bald spots and crusty skin. I still want to hold her hand, though.
