The foster family looking after Kathryn the wombat brought home a big box of veggies for all the animals in their care, but Kathryn took one look and decided it was all hers. The greedy little girl nibbled this and nibbled that, but finally settled on a single sweet potato. “What can I say?” says Kathryn, “I yam what I yam.”
Sweet! And healthy.

The Very Hungry Wombat?
My favorite book when I did 3-5 year old story time.
When I was little our library had some low bookcases under the windows and you could climb up and sit on top of them. I would take that book and sit up there and read it over and over.
Allein, I memorized the book and copied all of it in handmade felt cutouts. I would tell the story out loud using a felt board.
Kathryn appears to be an omnomnomnivore.
Good one, Amy!
I love cute animals with regular people names.
Kathryn: Hey, I’ve got to make sure they’re all fresh!
I also like the cut-out bunny template on the box.
What a beautiful coat. So soft and shiny looking.
Guys, I read recently about Sleepy Burrows and if you can donate to them it would be great. Apparently a lot (in the thousands) of our sweet wombat friends are suffering from terrible mange and there is a pretty fast acting cure but they need help – she doesn’t get any federal money at all. Not to be a downer – I haven’t looked into giving to them yet myself but will do next week.
