Wobbly Widdle Wombat

This sleepy nakey baby is Vicki, a wombat joey in the care of ACT Wildlife Australia. As you can see, she’s still a bit wobbly, but it won’t be long before she’ll grow into a furry little tank, ready to run around and explore.

Those swift rebirths can make the best feel wobbly. 🙂

Aacck!!! Ded from cuteness overload and maternal feelings explosion. I couldn’t tell if she’s shaking because she’s scared/nervous or just cold. I’m hoping the yellowish tint to the clip means she’s under heat lamps to keep her warm.
And sooo tiny! I didn’t realize how tiny she was until the hand came in from the left. Send her my way and I’ll keep her warm and safe and loved until she can venture out on her own and grows some fur!

You are right. Vicki was in a humidicrib. She is now a boisterous toddler weighing about 5 kg. Thankyou for your interest in our beautiful orphans. Vicki’s “mum”

Big sigh. Wombat Wednesdays is becoming a “thing” where I work. We all gather round a computer somewhere and watch the Wombat video. It makes everything better. 🙂

Do keep in mind that wombats are endangered, that rotten people do awful things to them for “sport” because they’re pretty trusting, that they suffer horribly from mange which can be treated with a new and very effective and fast-acting drug . Consider sending a donation to Sleepy Burrows or some other wombat sanctuary???? Not to be a nuffer, just that they give us so much pleasure and they are such dear creatures.

Oh my goodness! This is the part where I get a sweatshirt with a pouch and carry her around all day.

If we do a holiday/year-end donation again this year, maybe we can put ACT or Sleepy Burrows on the recipient list?

      That would be very cool.

We would be so appreciative. Each little wombat orphan costs close to $1000 to raise. Much of that cost is carried by the individual carers as we know how difficult it is to raise that money through donations to our charity. You can go to ACT Wildlife website to see how to donate. Thankyou all for caring about our precious wildlife.
