Rousing from his eternal slumber, the dreaded vampire seeks his next victim. Driven by the hunger of a thousand years, the pathetic undead creature must feast nightly on the blood of the innocent to quell his eternal torment. Seeing a wayward traveler passing through the woods, the fiend strikes without warning! CHOMP!
My favorite part of the whole movie, Sharon H.
Is anyone else imagining the dog emitting a melodramatic, wilhelm-esque scream?
His expression is hysterical.
Wilhelmesque! Willhelmresqueme!
Ahhhh-EEEEEEEEEEE-yah!
The podcast Twenty Thousand Hertz did a whole episode on the Wilhelm Scream.

Wow! I had no idea.
I’ve also noticed that there’s a hawk-screech sound effect that is apparently the only hawk screech in existence, because it’s used everywhere. Once you hear it, you notice it every time. “Wilhawk Scream”?
๐
Yes, in every movie where the majestic bald eagle screams, itโs actually the red-tailed hawk: https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=156187375
That’s hysterical. Fake Bird!
Iโve noticed that too. Darn Iโm hearing it now.
Thanks for reminding me – I now remember seeing something on this topic a while back. It’s an education to know you guys – as I’ve said before, popular culture and I don’t really get along, so it’s nice to be filled in on these things.
I had no idea either. To think! There is scholarship about screaming in movies!
Ahh Booby you are so right! That makes it even funnier! ๐ (Why are there two down votes to this?? they’re obviously best buds if they are at the full kronchy stage in a sunbeam on a bed.)
Now this is a version of Twilight I might watch…
I learned so much from watching the first one, like for example the thing to do these days is to arrive at school early in your pickup trucks and plaid shirts, only to stand around the parking lot, staring at the ground that is still covered in mist, and not talking to each other, just letting the tension build… or maybe thatโs just a PNW thing?
That sounds…boring…
But I grew up in New Jersey, so…
Ah yes, Jersey teenagers. Big hair and powder blue Trans-Ams plus maybe a little fight before the bell rings. So what exit you from?? We either took 135 or 137 off the Parkway.
True story, one time at my high school (during the late 70’s/early 80′), a kid was doing god knows what – maybe trying to impress his friends or a girl – and tried speeding down the driveway with his car. Hit a speed bump and ended up crashing into about 3 parked cars including a teacher’s car.
I never could get the big hair. My hair’s too fine and flat. On the up side, there are no pictures of me with 4 inch tall bangs like some of my middle school classmates.
I went out with a guy once several years ago who drove a Camaro. Shallow, I realize, but I just…no. (That wasn’t the only reason but it didn’t help.)
I honestly couldn’t tell you what exit from the Parkway, I take it so rarely. (123, I guess, if I were coming from the north, at least…I had to google that. I think near where I used to work is between 114 or 117.) Either way you’re still a good 20 or more minutes from my house. Turnpike is exit 8, usually (or 7A, depending on my mood…8 is closer but there’s more chance of having to stop at every traffic light on the way; 7A is also a tad more scenic). But either one is also 20-30 minutes from my house.
I sorta had big hair back then, had the poofy part down but I hated using hairspray so it never got as big as some of the girls I knew. I remeber asking my mom if I could get wings (ie feather layer the sides) and she said I’d have to ask a higher authority, lol.
Where we were lived (Scotch Plains/Fanwood) wasn’t too close to the parkway either, it took about 15-20 minutes once we got off to make it to the house. We were a lot closer to the 78, my dad was so thrilled when the extension was built and we had the exit right there, before that the highway ended about 2 exits away. And don’t even get me started about Route 22 – that highway is just sheer hell.
I nom your blood!
I am vam-purr! I vill haf your blood!
Vampires vs werewolves.
The Eternal Struggle Continues.
Latest installment in the Underworld movie series?
The hovertext had me giggling. All I can think of is this segment from Young Frankenstein: “Werewolf?” There Wolf, There Forest, There Castle” “Why are you talking like that?” “I thought you wanted to:
Still my fave, though:
Yes! That’s what I was kinda expecting too. A little fluffball instead of this Wrestlemania throw-down.
Someone needs to dress up this one as well.
Squee!
Evil incarnate! Look at the widdle devil kitty.
I will always love this little vampire kitten.
Carpe Jugulum!
