I think he/she did that on porpoise.
Very porpoisely! When my husband and I took a whale watch tour on our Alaska cruise, we came across a mother and calf that were playing–jumping and splashing again and again. We had to keep backing up in accordance with the regulations–boats are supposed to stay back at least 100′ away (or is it 100 yards?) but the baby got so excited about being able to make everyone on the boat squeal every time he jumped, that he was literally chasing us for the attention. We tried to declare a mutiny and throw the captain overboard when he told us we had to leave–30 minute max staying near any one whale, again a regulation for their protection. Best chunk of time out of the entire week’s cruise, and that’s saying something!
Fantastic story.
Wowsers! I would have mutinied too!
Trying to come up with something better than a Free Willy joke but I got nuthin’.
So here’s a couple whale emojis…
? ?
Wow — what an experience!!
Any one else have the “Jaws” theme going in their heads?
I love how the camera person is so focused on the whales off in the distance that they weren’t even aware of the one right by the boat. SURPRISE!!!
I think those two whales punked those humans.
Ok. This time you spout back there. I’ll sneak up and breach right at em’. They never see it coming!
I think you’re right!
I’ve seen videos of belugas deliberately soaking children. Whales apparently have goofy senses of humor.
That was glorious! I envy that little kid. Beluga’s smug smile cracked me up.
I wonder how many tons of shrimp that whale watching company feed that guy to do that for every tour?
