I thought they were supposed to be stuffed. You learn something new every day.
The story of the man playing slow classical piano music to rescued elephants is very moving. Do not miss the two accompanying videos! The videos did not bring tears to my eyes – I wept. Watching the elephants listening is – I don’t have words for it.
It’s funny, I recently discovered some of his videos…no elephants in ’em, though. I’ve watched this one probably a dozen times by now.
These links are so wonderful and yea to all the wonderful people helping out the animals. And that dog in the last video cannot, repeat, cannot be real. That is an animated stuffie but still absolutely adorable.
And on the home front… I’ve just been approved to be a foster home for our local humane shelter!!!! Let the kitty cuteness commence!!!! Just put in to be considered for a mamma with two kittens. Fingers crossed.
How awesome, AJ! Thank you for opening your home to kitties in need!
Congratulations, and good on you!
Mandatory cute pics.
Well all, just got word I’m getting a mom cat and not 2 but 3 kittens tomorrow night! The other one already went to a foster home and this one just came in today. Luckily the kittens are still in the nursing stage so Mom does all the work and I help her out. And yes, cute pixs will be coming
Yay!
Yay!
Good luck with the fosters! I could never do that until my current herd start to die off, and then I’d have another crop of cats on my hands. It’s pretty obvious that I’d be a foster fail.
Can’t believe the puppy is real ?
Has anyone heard of news about Scottish authorities plan to ban breeding of pugs, Scottish folds, frenchies and munchkins? Sounds the pug thing is reasonable, what do you think?
I haven’t heard the news, but overbreeding has resulted in such awful health issues for these little critters that I have some real sympathy for the idea. I’m very partial to Frenchies myself, but I do think that brachycephalic breeds should be bred back to have more functional muzzles. I guess you could say I think easy breathing is more cute than troubled breathing. I have the same problem with teacup-size animules—they look cute, but they are so prone to suffering because of the overbreeding that to me it really isn’t cute at all.
The only thing different with Scottish Fold is the ear right? I guess I don’t really have a problem of people breeding pets for looks so long as there are no health trade-offs (including decreasing genetic diversity).
Well put!
The scottish fold is supposed to have some muscle issues because of its ears, but I’m not an expert. Must agree with Ricky’s mum though.
TBH, I didn’t know all this about Scottish Folds, but here’s are some articles (there are many online) that discusses some of their health issues.
WARNING! These are very distressing to read, especially for animal lovers and generally nice people.

The Pallas Cat doesn’t look real either. It looks like those comically inaccurate medieval painting of tigers.
Don’t all tigers have birds on their shoulders? Asking for a friend.
Only magpies – their name is literally “harbinger of joy” in Chinese.
Dasha the baby Pallas’s cat makes me think of this comic XD

Good one!
There’s something oddly human about the proportions of a Pallas cat’s face.
Maybe that’s what makes them so expressive:

It’s probably the ears (small) and the eyes (no slits):
Oddly Human. Great band name!
