Lotsa Luck

Yep, that was me — the original Lucky Cat. I was a lot younger in this picture, of course, but hey, I still got the touch. Weird how I stumbled onto it; I see my human about to cross the street to the post office, so I wave at him and he stops to wave back — and WHAM! Truck plows into the mailbox, right where he woulda been standing.

We didn’t think much of it at the time, but then the next three people I waved at split the lottery jackpot, it was all over the papers, and hoo boy. Next thing, we got lines around the block looking for a little mojo. Wave — you got the promotion. Wave — you’re pregnant. Or you’re not pregnant, whatever you need.

About a month of this, and my arm’s ready to fall off, and that’s when we had the idea of the statues. I go to the factory and wave at ’em on the loading dock, and they work pretty well, as long as you believe. Paid us enough to retire to the beach. Human and I used to hit the racetrack every weekend until they banned us.

Just my luck, eh? (Reddit)

Classic NTMTOM yarn. I love it!

Wonder how often this kitty waves? I’d think it would get pawtinitus.
NTMTOM, hope you get my tip, from Luv Bunny, under the name of Klemm. I’m not tech savy.

Haha, if the cat were a classically patterned calico, it really would be a perfect maneki-neko. Love!
