It’s time for Maru and Hana to get their ears cleaned, which gives us another opportunity to study the Goofus-vs-Gallant difference in their personalities. Hana, the “good” child, submits calmly to the procedure…
… while Maru, well… doesn’t.
Ears to you, sender-inner Andrew Y.
I have never considered cleaning my cats’ ears. Kind of scared to when they don’t even want mature adults to use q-tips on their ears.
“Nothing smaller than your elbow” my RN mother always insists.
I don’t know… Dmitri Purrshkavich would have butchered me by the time I got a Q-tip swab anywhere near the inside of his ear. Well, I guess cats gonna cat ?…
I clean my dogs’ ears but just pour the liquid in and massage.
If I tried the mugumogo method, I would need stitches!!
I think Maru is pretty calm, actually. I seem to recall making a much bigger fuss about having my ears cleaned when I was a little kid.
I never cleaned Mookie’s or Mazzilli’s ears, but they were indoor-only cats and perhaps they didn’t need it. Certainly our vet never suggested they needed ear-cleaning. I suspect that was just as well!
Upon second (and third) viewing, actually feel bad for Maru. He clearly finds it uncomfortable (seems very ticklish, esp the right ear). But not so much that he’s using the claws, or you know, actually get up and move away 🙂
Maru’s pawsies! ?
Maru is thick bodied, thick furred, thick bellied, thick pawed… Wow.
Yes, he’s so perfectly proportioned! I love the time she spends petting his paws before and after – reminds me of Fiona’s dental checkup when the dentist was petting her gums.
Huh. She still has both hands. So what’s the problem?
Aural hygiene… not as difficult as oral. Doubt me?

Yay <3 just the thing I needed after having to go to the dentist yesterday XD
