Happy weekend, Cutetropolitans! By now our bodies have adapted to the recent change to Daylight Standard Time, so reader N. Fritz once again shares her cat, who has some thoughts on the subject.
“Mutz (rhymes with “puts”) here is skeptical about European plans to institute daylight savings time year round. This weekend may be the last time we set our clocks back one hour!”
“The look on his face says it all – phbbft!!”
Hi Mike. Did you get Millie pics to post?
Mutz looks like a (very cute and cuddly) street fighter, with that black patch over his eye.
Above comment not meant to be a reply to Faye. Sorry! Would love to see more Millie pics!
From Faye: “Here are pics of Millie out for a walk with her invisible friend. The real Millie is sniffing the warm Fall sunshine.”
I ? both Mutz and Millie!
Millie looks so interested and happy!
Totally sniffing.
Mutz & Millie! Cats & Dogs together.
Hi happy dance Millie! 🙂
Such a handsome boy! I am definitely on the side of pick a time and just leave it. My system hasn’t gotten the message yet that it should sleep an extra hour. Every morning like clockwork I’m awake at 4:30 which my body still believes is 5:30 and I should be up and at ‘em. I refuse to get up when the time has a 4 in it so I toss and turn for another 1/2 hour or so til I give up and get my day started.
Enough ranting. Lots of plans this weekend. Since it’s a three day weekend in the states, me and hubby took a little break from city life and drove up to the mountains for a few days. And it’s going to be an animal centered weekend. Today we go for a behind the scenes tour of a sanctuary that takes in exotic animals. Literally lions and tigers and bears, oh my. Plus other rescues. And the cool things is we get to feed the animals!! Of course not in their enclosure but behind a double fence and using a 3 foot fork. They also strongly hinted how much the animals like treats so I have 4 raw chickens, a box or oranges and 10 lbs of apples for them. Then tomorrow we visit a wolf center. Should be so much fun! And the little town we’re visiting has all sorts of cute stores AND an art/craft show this weekend. I see plenty of shopping in my future, thank god we brought the pickup truck with us, lol. Enjoy the weekend everyone!
Sounds like a really great weekend. Enjoy!
Wow, that sounds so cool.
Love seeing pictures of Millie, all grown up, and Mutz is a beauteous kitty – perhaps a pirate puss?
What a great series of photos of Mutz, N. Fritz, so funny!
It has abruptly turned wintry here; a trace of snow and COLD. That and the shortened hours of daylight have got me kind of feeling down so I need to find something to do this weekend to cheer myself up. What that would be, I don’t know yet!
Did not intend to horn in on Mutz’s show. Mutz and I agree. I have not adjusted yet either.
Not taken as such, Faye! I am so happy to have an update on Millie (and will have more to say about her below!)
❤❤❤ to Mutz and Millie!
Is there such a thing as a universal remote for other people’s stereos (car or otherwise)? I could really use one of those. News flash, people: The whole world does not want to hear your music in their living rooms.
Grumble, grumble.
Mutz, you don’t know how lucky you are. I second AJ’s rant about the time change! Though I did love the drive to work this week–for once, it wasn’t pitch black when I left the house–the drive home was more difficult. Pick one standard and leave the clocks aaaaalllllloooooooonnnnneee. (We need the Britney guy to make a video about this.)
Mutz is adorable! And Millie too thrills my heart with her spunky cheer.
I’m taking a quick break to check in with everybody. It’s not yet 10 am and I’ve finished sanding my newly mudded drywall, dusted down the walls, and primed them. Once the paint dries, I can *finally* install my new vanity, countertop with integrated sink, and medicine cabinet. This project has taken forever (and it’s still far from done), but maybe–just maybe–I can brush my teeth in the bathroom tonight, in front of a mirror!
Happy weekend, everybody. Those of you who get Monday off, celebrate! Unfortunately, my employer does not indulge us for Veteran’s Day, but Thanksgiving is only two weeks away. How did that happen?
I agree, Mutz. I’m feeling very meh-ish myself.
It’s cold and damp outside, even though the sun is trying to shine. I could easily stay in bed all day, but my sense of responsibility won’t let me.
Not much to do this weekend or the coming week. I plan to finish off the last of my projects and then put things away for the year.
We are planning our annual mass points redemption shopping trip soon. We plan for eighty percent to go for needed, useful, household stuff, like groceries, toilet paper, etc, and twenty for things we just want. Hubby tends to try out new junk food, and I get TLC things for me.
After Remembrance Day, I start in on Christmas window shopping. I have a small sum of money put aside for this, which allows for a little impulse buying. This year, especially, I need the incentive to get out. Last week’s health news makes me want to curl up in a ball and hide, so now I’m trying to find reasons for me to go out.
I wish everyone a restful weekend.
Duckie thinking of you. Force yourself out. Easy to say. Hard to do. I have to push myself too.
Mutz & Millie – that sounds like and adventurous match made in heaven! Love pictures of the both of them.
Am stressing over a work event scheduled for next weekend. I’m more involved than I wanted to be, AND seem to be the only person who feels any sort of pressure to make it good! It’s rather irritating. There are rumors about a similar event in the spring. That’s fine – but without me.
It’s cold today but gorgeous. Bright sunshine and some wind.
Wishing everyone a lovely week.
Hello, all! What a surprise to see Mutz on the front page yesterday (I’m writing this Sunday morning). I was busy all day Saturday with bf’s birthday preparations. Which I planned badly and nothing really turned out the way I wanted it to. There’s probably a lesson to be learned there!
Anyway, I sent the pictures in a couple of weekends ago when Europe had their time change (the weekend thread understandably celebrated Black Cat Day). They really want to do away with standard time here which means it would be dark in the mornings till like 9 am in the winter.
I LOVE the idea of the Adventures of Mutz and Millie! I realized that with my schedule I am not cut out for novel writing, at least not at NaNoWriMo pace. But I’d be willing to discuss this collaboration further with Faye! Thanks for the idea, Tara!
Hugs to you, Duckie, and everyone who needs a little encouragement and cheer (from someone who had a very harsh internal dialogue with herself when everything was turning out rotten yesterday). Be kind to yourselves.
Fritz, Mutz is a BEAUTIFUL true cat. I would love to have a lunch date with him; I bet it would be good conversation.
FKAWaldenPond, Mutz is a sweetheart, and as you can see from his facial expressions, he has a real personality! His favorite foods are ham, yogurt and butter (including the butter cream frosting I used on bf’s birthday cake!), in case that helps you plan your lunch date!
I almost got conned out of £750 yesterday by an alleged builder who did some work on my roof. Fortunately no money changed hands, thanks to a reputable builder who was working in the house next door and saw what a botched job they’d done. The local Trading Standards people have been informed.
Alice, I’m glad your neighboring builder stepped in, and that you’re reporting the bad guy. It’s so easy for people to take advantage of us when it comes to specialized things like roofs. It’s especially easy for them when we’re afraid of heights, like me!
Trying again because my link seems to be broken..
Yes, is cake.
Wow! I would never eat that cake; I would just want to look at it.
?
😀
Each photograph is GREAT!
too too funny – love the tongue action on the final pic.
The “blep” bottom left is killer too.
