Saspitoon, WA — Hikers have discovered a wingless bat-dog in the dense forest. “The little fella was flappin’ his arms, like he’s trying to fly,” said rescuer Harv Harglefarlb. Reached for comment in his cave in West Virginia, the amazing Bat Boy expressed an interest in meeting the creature, saying “At last, a pet who really understands me!”
All bats ought to be this cute, Andrew Y.
All bats are cute!
Scary fangs! Is he a vampire bat?
I couldn’t agree more!
Oh good, Bat Boy is doing well; I haven’t seen him in the news for some time so I was wondering.
As a complete aside, on Saturday, one elevator in my building was on service and the other kept stalling as the wind pressure was preventing the door from closing all the way… So, I had a dentist appointment to make and went down 20 floors to get outside. Then when I came back from the appointment still not working quickly and I had a nail appointment to get to and I went down 17 flights of stairs… 37 in total.
Oh. my. goodness. Hello Legs. Well my Mom would have said, “It’s a good healthy ache!” Very, very ungraceful getting out of bed and chairs.
FKAWaldenPond, do you live in a building where there is a dentist and a nail salon? I’d have to drive 10 miles round trip to visit both my dentist and my nail tech! But good on you for walking those flights!
🙂 I live in area where there are a lot of shops and it is walkable. I also like to support local businesses.
At least down is easier than up?
That’s what I was saying to myself as I trotted down all smug– ha to that said my legs.
I felt really bad for the ‘skip the dishes’ guy huffing and puffing up as I passed him.
Actually, going down supposedly puts more pressure on the knees than going up.
Thankfully knees and glutes are fine; it’s the quad and calf muscles that are giving me the ‘good healthy ache’… 😀 :S My co-worker tells me I am walking like a robot.
I hope you didn’t get shin splints – they are a bear. I had them for about 4 days and every step downstairs I groaned (didn’t hurt going up)
That’s gonna be one big bat if he grows into his feet!
Apparently he’s a Schipperke…I don’t know how big they get.
Click the Imgur link. CLICK IT!!
I thought Schipperkes were medium small. Maybe it’s just the angle of the camera, but his feets’ too big!
His bleppy tongue is just right, tho….
He’s such a darling pup – interesting color toe beans. Great tongue display.
And does the name “Schipperke” bring a song to mind? I keep thinking “Schipoopie, Schipoopie (sp?) The girl who’s hard to get…..” (Music Man)
One of my all time favorites, MurrayC!! (And now I’ve got that little ditty in my head! Oh well, at least it replaced the Whoville Christmas Song from the Links thread!)
In my youth I got to play Eulalie Mackecknie Schinn, the Mayor’s wife – I got to say “BALzac”! and wear a Statue of Liberty costume – so much good stuff.
Marvelous! I grew up with the Music Man (Iowa girl, don’tcha know?) and can lipsync dialogue and songs. This past weekend I was on a clackety train and sang to myself “Cash for the merchandise, cash for the buttonhooks” every time we pulled out of a station!
?
Schipperke is a smallish dog, almost always black, Belgian or Dutch origin, used as an alarm dog on barges, alerting to intruders on their family’s boat. Name means something like “ship’s little captain”.
That is one stinking cute puppper! I find bats both terrifying and repulsive, so it was a relief to see this sweetiepie.
Looks a bit more like a little werewolf pup to me. Ah-wooooo….
Was he drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic’s?
I was just about to say, his hair IS perfect.
