Snow Day? Snow Way!

These daffy ducks display the single most honest reaction to going out in the snow there could possibly be, which is: thanks but snow thanks. (via Gigi the cat lady)

My sentiments exactly when I encounter snow! Uh, thanks but no thanks, I’ll stay inside. Reminds me of our cat when we moved from SoCal to Massachusetts and he insisted on going outside after the first snow. As soon as that first paw hit the wet, cold stuff, I swear he levitated himself and was back in the house so fast that no one saw how he came inside. All we saw was one paw print in the snow.

Exactly!!! Never tried going outside again in the winter, he was such a SoCal cat, loved his warm weather.

I was looking at this very image earlier today – had saved it to my photos. What I love about the ducks is all the how the conversation starts offstage and just keeps on going – that’s hilarious.

      AJ, that is too funny!

My long-departed black cat, born and raised in California, had a habit of dashing outside whenever i opened the door. He did that once on a snowy day shirtly after we moved to Kansas and glared at me like it was my fault he made that choice.

Those ducks have the exact same reaction to cold weather that I do.

Duck this! I’m going back inside!

I feel like my Canadian work life does not afford me the same opportunities to turn around and go back inside my barn, to my nice warm straw bed, on snow days.No snow where I am, thankfully, but it was bitterly cold standing in my work skirt on my commuter train platform at 6:45 am this morning.

    • Blue Footed Booby December 6, 2018 / 9:10 am

      That’s why I don’t wear skirts, ugh.

It’s also why I tend to grow a beard during the winter.

Thankfully living in Georgia, my teammates are total wusses when it comes to snow so we can telecommute if there’s a HINT of snow.

Last year two people couldn’t get out of their driveway, but I could drive 24 miles on icy highways. Wimps.

    BAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! ?

    Quacknope qnope qnope qnope…

Best part of being retired is staying home every single time there’s more than 2” of snow.

And best part of having a young housemate is never having to shovel snow.

Perk of a lifetime is being able to wait for the sun to melt the ice and snow off your car before you even go out to start it!

    First laugh in a week.
Seeing gp today. Get some honest information.

    • AJ December 6, 2018 / 12:07 pm

Good luck Duckie. Hope he has answers for you.

    • dubravkamcvmd December 6, 2018 / 1:06 pm

Fingers and toes crossed. I’m glad you have at least one doctor you trust.

    • Kar December 6, 2018 / 2:29 pm

      More fingers crossed.

      Thinking of you Dear Duckie.

The dog’s expression is like “Guys, come back! It’s lovely out here!”

  9. Duckie ? December 6, 2018 / 7:16 pm

    Ok.
Saw gp. Two kinds of scar tissue in lungs. Breathing affected. Two potential treatments. One pill can cure the problem, but the pill itself can cause cancer. The other prescription can put it in remission, but I could relapse and suffer worse.
However, none of the specialists are freaking out. No urgent appointment making for tests. They seem to be doing a watch and wait thing. So, for now, I am to sit and try to breathe deeply and calmly, and take my meds, and get help if I need it. And look for the good in things.
Therefore, Cutetropolis is now a vital medicine for me.

Yaaaayyy! This is really good news Duckie! Once your mind and body settles from the stress, anxiety, fear, powerlessness etc you have been feeling these past few weeks you will be hopefully feeling much better. *hug* 🙂

    • Ricky's Mom December 6, 2018 / 8:11 pm

Oh, golly, Duckie. I’m sure this was not the news you hoped for, but I do think that your specialists are not freaking out is the bright side. I’m pulling for you, and so is my little puppy charge (who is wearing me out, tbh).

    • dubravkamcvmd December 6, 2018 / 8:21 pm

Knowing what’s what is a good thing. It’s not a screaming emergency and you have options with possibly really good outcomes. It does seem you have reason to feel positive.

    • Duckie ? December 6, 2018 / 9:46 pm

Thank you. I truly value all of you.
And I will try to be calm and patient.
And I agree with these ducks. Back inside.

      • Murray C December 6, 2018 / 9:59 pm

        ❤️❤️❤️❤️ plus????and???

      • debg December 6, 2018 / 10:03 pm

Echoing what everybody else says: you know what’s what; specialists aren’t freaking out; you’ll be able to make an informed decision about treatment options. Hugs and kitty kisses to you.

I love how they all decided to turn and go inside at the same time. It looked perfectly coordinated–almost marching band level!
