What wonderful world that has such slippers in it!
And the slipper on the right even has the pink dots on doggo’s nose. That’s attention to detail, right there.

OMG I want that baby tamandua. I’d name it Yoda. It could live in my house with the cats and the young love tanks. Wombat Wednesday is such a great day.
And I’ve always known that cats are nice.

Wombat Wednesday is the BEST day!
And I’m pretty sure that is a muppet and not a baby anteater 😛

Yeah, I gotta go with ‘creepy.’ Those slippers are a little TOO realistic-looking. I don’t really want to go around looking like I’m wearing my pets’ severed heads. (Though that might inspire them to behave . . . . )
Any anyone who thinks cats aren’t nice is welcome to borrow my Dora for a while. (“Take my cat—please!”) Let them spend a few hours with her right up in their face, purring and kneading and purring even louder . . . . I often ask her, “When does the ‘aloof’ part kick in??!”

Kinda want the slippers, but I’d be afraid I’d step on my *actual* cat while trying to put the slippers on, not being able to tell the difference. Although, as a black cat, she learned pretty quickly to announce her presence if she was sitting in a black chair and someone came near. 😛

Sorry to nuff, but I don’t see anything cute at all in the story of someone renting an apartment to two cats when there are so many homeless people. It’s simply unconscionable. I can think of any number of better solutions to both renting out the apartment and caring for the cats (and yes, of course cats are nice; that’s not the issue). This is a terribly upsetting story to me.
Thank goodness for the baby tamandua and the wombat. Otherwise I’d just despair.

To be fair, the article did bring up the problem of super-high rents and homelessness in the Bay Area…yet the writer also managed to understand the landlord had the freedom to rent their property as they chose. That’s the kind of quality journalism I’m here for in 2019.
Full disclosure: If I had an apartment to rent, it’d be cats every time. Humans would be near the bottom of my list of preferred tenants. I’d even prefer galloping baby wombats. But then, I prefer animals to humans in basically every situation, so there’s that.
ymm (obvsly does) v. Which is fine by me.

Why not think of it this way… It’s an “apartment” that’s part of someone’s personal property, and he’s using it to house some beloved pets. Other than the fact that money is changing hands, that’s no different than me letting some old woman’s cat live in my laundry room, or me letting some homeless cats share my bedroom. And, it’s a moral step above me keeping a mostly unused spare room for my parents’ occasional visits. Just using myself as an example here, but most people I know do these sorts of things.

Anteater link is geographically limited. I managed to reach it by VPN but I guess not everybody has that option.
However, the important links in the article points to Instagram and they don’t have this restriction.
The wombats remind me of my pet store years. We would let all the baby canines out to play and then spend half an hour doing the puppy shuffle.
Then we’d draw straws to see who got to clean up before the store opened.
I hope that theater’s not showing Cujo…

Make Way for Wombats!
