Ah, so that explains that. Good to know. You must have been overcome by Teh Qte, or at least Teh Ridonkulous.

I was wondering who didn’t like Mike’s joking. Faye, all of us at sometime hit the wrong key or tab. Have to admit, the thought of it is funny. I wonder what stories Mike’s mom could tell us about his imagination as a child.

Those exact words were going through my mind!

I don’t want to talk to anyone who doesn’t.

I want to drop bits of food on it and see which one gets his attention.

I want to wave a steak in front of hi/hers nose and see how long it takes before he/she wakes up.

Like the carnivore version of yesterday’s sleep-eating bunny.

I want to watch it waggle. What a sweet face.

Faye, are you back at work now?

I’m home sick today so I opened my Cincinnati Zoo package right after it arrived. I’m happy to report that they paid lots of attention to their star model when they commissioned the Fiona stuffy. It’s absolutely perfect, with wiggleable ears and her adorable expression. Money well spent.

      A Fiona stuffie?!?! Yesssss!!!!!

Um, *sheepishly, nervously*, um. Funny, I am craving a veal sandwich.

    • Smartypants January 28, 2019 / 7:56 pm

Would you settle for a Morningstar Farms “Chik Patty” with Marinara and cheese?

      • fkaWaldenPond January 28, 2019 / 8:49 pm

Well… 😉 Still craving a tender veal sandwich but sure! sounds like a doable option. 🙂

Apparently the universe is not done with us yet. My husband fell down 10 stairs today (school stairs, so hard ones). He broke his eye socket, his wrist, and his neck. The neck is not serious, so high up so as not to pose a paralysis risk, the eye socket needs to be watched, but the wrist required surgery. He has 8 stitches above his eyebrow, lots of scrapes and bruises, but is back in the hospital. He will be wearing a neck brace and an external fixator on his wrist for the next 8 weeks. He is on blood thinners, so they were worried about that for the surgery, but he did fine. We were in a small town about 23 miles from home, and there was no orthopedic surgeon there. Abilene, KS EMS offered to go straight to Salina (our home town) rather than running up charges for both hospitals. I followed the ambulance with our truck. He seemed to be doing okay, told the ER doc that if he was going to thread his needle, it may as well be worth his trouble. Then when I said I needed to bubble wrap him, he said, “Why? So the cats can attack me and pop all the bubbles?” It’s a tough thing, watching someone fall down a flight of stairs, and not being able to stop it.

Oh Patty! This is terrifying just reading it! I’m so glad the fall wasn’t worse, though it’s certainly bad enough. Seems his sense of humor is undamaged. 🙂 Maybe wrap him in four inch thick upholstery batting instead? Then the cats will just snuggle with him. Sending good thoughts to both of you and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I was going to offer to send you the giant roll of bubble wrap that’s in an empty cube a few rows over, but then I got the end and, well, he makes a good point. Glad he’s doing okay.

Wow. It seems your husband has terrible luck AND is invincible. A lot of people would not survive all he has gone through. Your stress levels must be through the roof. Care takers often don’t take care of themselves and this is affecting you too. My mother had dementia for the last eight years of her life and taking care of her took a toll. Please care for yourself too.

Patty, I am so sorry, hugs to you. 🙁

Patty, I’m so sorry. Glad your hubby has kept his sense of humor. You’re all in my thoughts.

Patty so sorry to hear about this. Sometimes when it rains it pours but I’m hoping the clouds part sooner than later. Healing hugs to you and hubby.
