Shake Your Tail Feathers!

Petunia the duck is happy you’re home from work

After a hard week at the office, it’s such a joy to come home to an enthusiastic greeting from the family dog. Sorry, that’s (checks notes) family duck. Meet Petunia, a rescued muscovy duck who lives indoors and greets her friend with her tail a-wagging when she comes home from work. And while Petunia might not fetch slippers, she’ll definitely bring you some quackers. (from Faye via Laughing Squid)

How sweet! I have to say Petunia is the nicest looking Muscovy duck I’ve ever seen, as well as the friendliest.

Sadly, that was my first thought too! Though I never guessed that ducks could be so happy and show it.

      Yay! Duckie approved.

I almost forgot this link. Isn’t Petunia adorable. The tail wagging is wonderful. But I enjoyed the squeaking!

Love this! Petunia is so over the top I have expected her to start incubating a sprinkler. Reminds me of when I was growing up, my next door neighbor took in and raised orphan birds, ducks, etc along with the few dogs she had until they could be either released or she kept them. Looking back, man, that place was a three ring circus. I helped her feed baby birds for a day when she had to be out of town. I took them into school with me and was the star of show n tell in my jr high science class. Another time, one of the grown ducks got out of the yard, we ended up driving around our (suburban NJ) neighborhood yelling “Horace, Horace” til we found him. And the weird thing is I thought it was all normal, doesn’t everyone have a neighbor with pet ducks?
