Maru and Hana Play With Dolls

Tomorrow is Hinamatsuri — Doll’s Day in Japan — in which homes are decorated with ornamental dolls representing the Emperor, the Empress, their court musicians, and their two gigantic cats, who are supposed to guard the royal court but can only manage to knock things over.

I prefer the term “action royalty figure,” Andrew Y.

Hana seems somewhat impatient with this holiday. Possibly it does not align with her values.

I suspect that she may harbour republican sympathies. And what is the weird black object on the left?

LOL I wouldn’t be at all surprised, living with His Royal Highness Maru.

They can guard my court any time.

My court may actually just be an 800 square foot condo. But they can guard it anyway.

Had to laugh at Hana knocking the plants off. Classic cat! And around 1:40 when she’s grooming M. Very sweet.
