“… and so, the Brave Little Kitten, using all of her might, steered the runaway bus full of orphans out of the path of the oncoming toxic waste truck, over the railroad tracks just in time to miss being hit by a train, and brought it to a screeching halt in front of the candy store just inches from a family of baby ducklings. The end.”
I just love a happy ending, Sharon H.
Aw, I wanna go to story time!
Yay, a Brave Little Kitten story for my birfday!
Happy Birthday!
Hippo Birdie!!
And many happy returns!!!
Happy Birthday Ricky’s Mom! I hope you have sunshine where you are. 🙂
Happy birthday to YOOOOOU!!!
Thanks, everyone (I see you down below, Phred’s Mom)! I didn’t get the warm day I ordered, but at least I got the sunshine. I like sunshine!
Weather people always get the order wrong, don’t they?
Well, it did “warm up” to 30º F a bit later; Bibi and I went out for a half-hour walk, and at least one of us feels the better for it.
A very happy birthday to you Ricky’s Mom!
Happy birthday, Ricky’s Mom!
Happy Birthday!
Have a wonderful birthday!!!
Happy Birthday!
Aww, thanks, guys!
Happy day, Ricky’s Mom/Bibi’s Mom!
This is very sweet and awww-inspiring. The kittens are listening very intently so it must be a good story. Hmm, possible new career path – animal story time reader.
I’ve heard of library and shelter programs where kids read to the animals. You could look into that. 😉
The one on the right looks like he might be about to do something dumb, which is to say kittenish.
Happy Birthday, Ricky’s Mom!
I would read that book. When is the release date?
It’s actually Puss in Boots, in Russian!
My kind of story. And my kind of audience.
That story rivals the one we tell about our dog, Cooper, who’s missing the tip of his right ear. It was already like that when we got him at about 9 months old, and he wasn’t neutered, so we don’t know what happened. When people ask us about it, we say he was injured while saving children from a burning school bus.
(I tried to add a picture, but apparently the file was too big.)
(If you can’t shrink it, if you send it to Mike, he’ll likely post it for you.)
Also, that’s an excellent story for Cooper!
Hi Catwhisperer! Here’s that picture of Cooper you sent me:
Oh, such a very sweet face! Hello, Cooper! (boops nose)
Cooper, your ‘heroic’ ear is adorable!
Cooper is a hero, no matter what he did or didn’t do to lose part of his ear.
Thanks, Mike! And thanks, everyone, for your nice comments . 🙂
Happy Birthday, Ricky’s Mom! Sunshine is good- just stay in the house with the heat turned up and pretend it’s summer!
Each of those kittens is thinking “The Brave Little Kitten is based on ME!”
I forgot to add…Happy Birthday, Ricky’s Mom!
Thank you both!
How did anyone get the kittens to sit still long enough for a photo? Kittens in my experience are perpetual motion machines.
Well, the one on the right does look like he’s about to pounce on something…
Or fall off the table.
Either that, or he needs to be excused to use the litter box.
Happy Birthday Ricky’s Mom!
How is your dog fostering going?
Thanks! Bibi is not a foster, but mine, all mine since the day I brought her home, on Feb. 1. We have a lot of work to do on socializing with other dogs, alas, but she’s lovely with people, and blessedly healthy.
Happy Birthday, R’sM! Glad you got in a walk with your pooch foster.
Cat Whisperer, Cooper is adorable – we have a neighbor doggo named Cooper – he’s an enormous yellow lab who still squats when he pees – an embarrassment for his athletic father who loves him anyway.
Thanks!
