Part Five, Water: From time to time, your human may become immersed in water. Although the victim may appear calm, they are actually in shock and will lie still for long periods, sometimes humming to themselves. A reassuring paw on their arm or leg will keep them calm until they return to normal.
Looks like kitty earned his merit badge, John B.
Judging by kitteh’s expression, the caption may actually explain her thinking there.
Aw, kitty looks concerned. Probably wants to make sure his food supplier is okay.
So true! Egoism/selfcentered-ness disguised as altruism. See I can be concerned about someone else but at the same time still look out for my needs, it’s a win-win for everyone. Cat Logic 101.
Reminds me of one of my favorite Paula Poundstone bits. She talks about how her cats watch her showering and imagines them afterward saying, “It was AWFUL! Water all over you and NOTHING WE COULD DO!!”
Yes, I think they can’t possibly fathom how we could willingly submit to water torture. No wonder they feel superior to us. 🙂
They just know our tongues are useless and feel sorry (and superior) that we must succumb to a shower for grooming.
I remembered that bit and it definitely influenced me when I was writing this. (Thanks, Paula!)
Awwwwwww,
I want to read parts 1-4 🙂
I think this post https://cutetropolis.com/2019/03/25/cat-looks-down-from-above/?ref=ttl from the other day covers parts 1-4 quite nicely.
Kitty looks like she’s checking hoomin’s pulse.
Kitty’s expression. Uh…this looks like more than I can handle. Even if I use all four paws. Hmm. Well I better at least look like I am there for them.
