It’s always nice to have visitors on a Caturday, and so reader Tracy R. has a visitor for us, and her visitor has a visitor: “Here’s Hamster (right) getting a visit from his friend Beirut (aka Shamoo). They totally don’t look like they’re planning anything nefarious.”

What gorgeous, gorgeous cats!
My first reaction too. They’re stunning. And totally NOT plotting anything naughty!
Partners in crime! (They are both beautiful!)
“Nuffin for you to see here, hooman.” Nope, nothing diabolical going on there.
I call matchinkins with the cat tree! They’re just beautiful and of course, totally innocent of any intended mayhem.
Laugh of the day, I was cleaning the top of my fridge and I found kitty pawprints in the dust. Now I know where my foster kitty has been disappearing to. LOL.
Matchingks it is! See, that’s how you solve a mystery–you dust for prints!
🤣
Well played, sir.
I get the impression that the photographer interrupted a conversation in which the credulity of hoomins played a major part…
I’ve now reached the year 1892 in the pantomime book – only another twelve years to go, plus a search for reviews of Joseph Grimaldi’s panto performances. Here’s a little anecdote from 1896 which has already appeared in one of my books:
“LAST nights of pantomimes in the provinces are often marked by an unchecked rowdyism which we trust will not be extended into the metropolis. On Saturday evening, during the final performance of ‘Robinson Crusoe’ at the Prince of Wales’s, Liverpool, the audience became very disorderly, and commenced throwing things on the stage, such as sweetmeats, toys, and biscuits. At length one young blackguard threw a lump of confectionery that hit Mr Fred Williams, the popular Mrs Crusoe, on the face and cut him. The comedian uttered a well-timed rebuke, and something like order was restored on the removal of one of the offenders from the theatre. Mr Williams has suffered no ill effects from the contretemps, and will commence his engagements in town on Monday at Collins’s.”
This story makes me hope there really will always be an England.
Two things this week:
1. Lily turns 3! 🎂🍰
2. My knee surgery is Monday. 🤞
That is all. (Although I may put up some kitten pictures later when I have a chance.)
Happy Birthday to the beauteous Lily, and good luck with your surgery Jan!
Happy Birthday to the always lovely Miss Lily. And good luck with the knee surgery, may the healing time be quick and you’re back on your feet sooner than later.
Many happy returns of the day to the lovely Lily!
Very best of luck for your surgery to the lovely you!
I hope that the surgery is straight forward and easy. also that the birthday girl plays nurse while you’re recovering
Gorgeous kitties. Wish they were here.
Awful week here, in more ways than one.
Jan, you have all my bestest wishes for Monday.
Oh, gosh, Duckie! I’m so sorry. You’ve been sounding so much better lately, and I was so happy for you! Miss Bibi sends you puppy kisses, and I send best wishes for speedy improvement of your circumstances.
Sorry about all the stresses everybody seems to have encountered this week. Happy birthday to Miss Lily! And sending positive vibes to Jan for her knee surgery.
I too had a stressful week, but it was just stress–seems minor compared to everybody else’s troubles. Making changes to the sales/inventory/shipping system at work, it turns out, affects everybody who works in sales, inventory, and shipping. So I’m making extra cookies this weekend to mend fences.
Today I’m caulking around the top of the shower and inside the niches, so that I never have to put a ladder inside the bathtub again. Then I can refinish the tub. Silicone caulk smells strong, so I’m taking a break to recover from the fumes. Thank goodness I found a low-odor tub refinishing kit! It’s a small room and smells can get overpowering.
Hope everybody can relax and recover this weekend. Hugs and kitty purrs to you all.
Oopsie to making changes at work, but cookies as a peace offering sounds good to me. And good luck finishing up your bathroom project, it seems like there’s light at the end of the long remodel tunnel
I am in awe of your mad DIY skillz. I’d love to go the DIY route, but I know my limitations.
“Making changes to the sales/inventory/shipping system at work, it turns out, affects everybody who works in sales, inventory, and shipping.” Am I a terrible person because that made me laugh? Your cookies should go a long way toward mending fences. And I’m sending you some good juju to help.
On Mother’s Day my sister and I will visit her grave (she died three years ago in April) and then we will have lunch at the restaurant we used to take her on Mother’s Day. We also had a 90th birthday party for her there. She had significant dementia by then but she was able to converse with the guests well enough. My sister and I have been really glad we had a big party for her then. If anyone has such a situation, I advise risking the party.
My condolences to you and your sister. The pain of loss never goes away, it just finds its place—and occasionally pops back up to remind you. I am taking your advice to heart. Please know your hard-won wisdom truly reached someone else.
I hope that you and your sister have a speciall time and share some wonderful memories.
Gorgeous two kitties! It’s so nice when kitties have “friends.” Mine barely tolerate each other, never mind any “visitors.”
Duckie, I wish you all the best that things improve and I’m still laughing about your wombat poop story. I can’t wait until my niece and nephew are old enough to make wombat poop fudge. 😉 Jan, sending you best wishes for a speedy recovery for your knee. And of course happy birthday Lily!
A nice accidental thing happened this week which I will recommend to all of you. I was looking for saffron crocus bulbs and teddy bear sunflower seeds on Edenbrothers.com https://www.edenbrothers.com/
and now the add space on all my webpages is taken up by beautiful flowers. It makes me so happy.
Best wishes to everyone for a wonderful weekend.
Ohhh, thank you Tara re Eden Brothers tip– now my ads are coming up floral tubers. 🙂
Happy Caturday! My brother and I are trying to figure out what we’re doing for Mother’s Day and as usual he’s being a pain in the ass. “I asked you first”; “Make what?” How ’bout you come up with some suggestions?! I already voted for where (stay home because restaurants are gonna be busy) and I have an idea for dessert (banana splits; it’s a thing with me and my mom). We do this every year and it’s tiresome.
One more week + one day of work and then I’m on vacation.
I like the idea of Banana splits.
something fun to do with mom that could bring up some fun memories and less stressful than trying to book a mother’s day brunch
Still don’t know what we’re doing for dinner. I just called my brother and he didn’t answer. I’m not in the mood to go back and forth with text messages.
Thanks for the tip, Tara. Just clicked around on the Eden Brothers site a bit so we’ll see what happens to my ads (right now I have Chewy and Tractor Supply on this page).
Quiet here today…hope everyone is doing something good or being super lazy…
That is VERY VERY sweet. I want to reach into the picture and stroke the kitten’s back through the “cape.”
I want to snuggle with him under his cape.
Okay, so now I have a Geico ad… but it has flowers in it…
That kitty deffo needs me to snuggle him/her, too! I love this one, DUBRAVKAMCVMD!
And yay, now I have lots of flowers! All but one ad is Eden Brothers and the other is Chewy.com with a cute doggie.
Yay! That sounds like the best combo ever.
Just realized I forgot to give Hamster and Beirut (Shamoo) their due. (Shame on me.) GORGEOUS kitties!
