“how man’s best friend got its puppy dog eyes”
Sounds like a lost Just So story from Kipling.
Please watch the video in the Panda thread about cats and bread (Boris the cat), I love Boris’s determination 🙂
Boris is a truly impressive specimen. I guess his Mom is sure he won’t release his prize in order to attach himself to her face with claws and teeth. I think I would go with “It’s all yours, Boris!”
Bagels. Not even once.
Mazzilli wasn’t interested in American supermarket bread, but mad for bagels, pita, ciabatta, anything outside the realm of ordinary sandwich bread. Olive oil a plus. I don’t remember Mookie being as interested. Certainly he wasn’t as determined—Maz would grab a piece as I was conveying it to my mouth!
Upsy the dog or Upsy the gazelle? Adorable.
I had a cat once who could not leave bread alone. He would eat through a grocery bag to get to it.
Upsy Your Sled Dog Friend! If you want to invite the onion cutting ninjas into your home or workplace, check out the links to Upsy’s story! Upsy is challenged (people have compared her to the dog in Hyperbole and a Half: http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/07/dog.html?m=1) but she has come so far in the last year! Every day is a good day when Upsy appears in my feed!
Stupid onion ninjas! I’ve had some pretty “special” kitties as does my bff (who is also a vet tech) so this story makes me so happy!!! So sweet and inspiring!
My favorite line from the puppy dog eyes article is when they say that dogs have “weaponized” the puppy dog stare!! LOL!!
Read some more on the Uppsy story and yeah, definite onion chopping ninjas have snuck into work. Thank heaven for owners like hers that are willing to take on special need animals and make their lives a little better.
Loved the article on how dogs make puppy dog eyes, learned something new today. And the cats I had never were that interested in bread but one cat got into the Hostess pies. That were on top of the fridge. Hubby thought we had mice in the apartment.
