From his vantage point atop the high mesas, the stoic cowboy watches over his herd of wiener dogs as they drive to market. The trail is dusty, long and lonely, with dangers at every turn. Coyotes watch hungrily from the shadows. Rattlers lurk behind every bush. Even the fleeting appearance of a squirrel can touch off a stampede. This time tomorrow, he’ll be in Abilene, spending his wages on whisky and women. But for now, under the sheltering stars, he silently watches.

This post and last post merged as one in my mind. What does this cowboy do when his butt itches?
Too hot, too humid, stomach rejecting chocolate. Can’t be held responsible for where my mind goes.
I just had chocolate…
Had the same thought – all them long little dogies.
He made me think of Howard Wolowitz…plaid shirt and giant belt buckle.
I’m a sucker for handsome cowboys. Love his oh so serious look!
I bet he rolls his own catnip leaves. Or maybe he just inhales them and rolls around in the hard Texas dirt.
But can he herd CATS?
I’d pin a little star on him and call him Sheriff Long-mewer. (Any Craig Johnson fans? If so, you’ve got to admit this cat’s facial expression is exactly how one imagines Walt.)
Oh, yes!!!! Love it and yes kitty’s facial expression reminds me of Walt. Did you see the Netflix series? It was so good.
Haven’t watched it yet, because my love for the books runs so deep I was afraid I might not like it. Is it true to the books?
Oh, and Long-mewer needs a little teddy bear, just standing next to him! And an angry black cat with tarnished gold eyes.
Not sure how true they are to the books as I didn’t read them. Some reviews I read mentioned there are differences and that some characters were changed/merged but I enjoyed the series on its own merits. I will admit some of the story lines were a little out there, Hollywood always has to put their own spin on things.
I can’t believe someone actually got their cat to stay still long enough to have this costume put on and photographed. And that story is like any and every western I’ve seen.
