Links: It’s Cute Until You Catch Your Ottoman Climbing the Drapes

Cat socks for chairs, duck returns shoe, dogs love violins, and chill capybaras, in today’s links.

And finally: I Prefer the View Outside

Dante’s owner writes: Dante loves sitting out on the porch. One morning, we brought his bed out with us so he’d be more comfortable. Ever since then, he does it on his own. Every. Single. Time. (via Andrew Y.)

The dog in the video is the mirror universe version of that one that dragged a running sprinkler inside through the doggy door.

Peeps, I’m going off-line for a while. I’m extremely depressed over several things, and I just need some down time.
    Back soon.

Thanks for letting us know. I’m sorry you’re feeling so bad. I hope you start to feel better soon.

Hope you’re feeling better soon, Duckie. With the exception of a few sites like this, the internet is definitely not the place to be if you’re depressed.

Duckie, hope down time gets you to feeling better. The internet can be a blessing and a downer. However, this site always makes me feel better, for a laugh, an ooooh, oh wow who knew, an aaawwww and the occasional teary moment but in a good sense.

You take care and I hope you feel better soon.

Cat paw chair socks?? Who knew there was a need (or a market) for such things! I love the story about the two orphaned kitties – everybody needs a friend and I’m so glad they found each other. I teared up at the story of the violinist who’s helping to heal traumatized dogs. ❤

I don’t think that duck was retrieving the flip flop for the kid’s benefit. 😁

Sure, capybaras will hang out with every other creature on earth… except me! Not fair!! 😜

    • Murray C. August 22, 2019 / 5:07 pm

Oh, I agree about that duck – not a shred of philanthropic intent! Capybaras – the buddhas of the animal world it would seem. I loved the cat socks – I didn’t look if they provided a pattern – can’t be that hard! Glad those two kittens have each other. And that dog certainly understands the meaning of creature comforts. And lovely how much the dogs seem to relish the music! I should show that to my rabbit Fergus, who hides when I sing.

We used to have one of those yellow chairs with the pull-out steps in the cat socks article when I was a kid! (I don’t think it was exactly the same, but it was very similar and it was even yellow!)

Lucy’s Mom – I agree…duck seemed a little mad at the end…. or maybe he just wanted a pat on the head and the kid ran off.

I was hoping there would be a video of the violinist playing for pups! That’s such a sweet thing.

    Ducky – feel better soon!

    • Juno August 22, 2019 / 4:26 pm

My grandparents had one, too–also yellow. It was the favorite perch of their big white cat, Pinky. He could sit there and keep an eye on everything and everyone.

I want the cat socks but in a bigger size for my own feet! I know there’s cat socks out there but do they have toe beans???

Duckie, having depression is rough and I’m so sorry you have it. Sending healing thoughts your way. I know it’s hard and you’re not me but what worked for me is just getting up, getting going and getting out of the house. Too many days I knew if I stayed home/in bed, I would feel like never moving again. I’m hoping there’s someone … a counselor, a pastor, someone … that you can talk to. Here’s to sunnier days ahead.

      • AJ August 22, 2019 / 5:20 pm

        Oooh, mine, mine, MINE!!!!!

PS Thank you Allein, you find the best stuff on the internet.

        • allein 🐾 August 22, 2019 / 5:31 pm

          🙂

Here’s a little something for anyone who needs a lift…

    • fkaWaldenPond August 22, 2019 / 8:46 pm

Hey AJ & Duckie, yes, please keep moving even if the depression or anxiety tells you otherwise. Walking, even around your condo helps, just keep on moving. You can get through this.

  7. Faye August 22, 2019 / 4:31 pm

Doggo: shall we continue our day on the veranda?

    • fkaWaldenPond August 22, 2019 / 8:50 pm

      🙂 I’m with doggo’s judgement.
