Are Those… Toenail Clippers?

You know, it’s kind of funny that you should bring those out now, because my toes just disappeared. Yep, vanished without a trace. They were here just a moment ago, too. Darndest thing. I’ll be sure to let you know if they turn up again.

So you can put those away, perhaps in the nearest trash can. (Imgur)

This is probably a good tactic for him, as opposed to that overly dramatic dog who nearly passed out at the very suggestion of a nail clipping. 😀

I once drew blood from clipping my wawa’s nails so after that, I always had the vet’s office do it. It got expensive but the thought of harming my baby girl was just too much for me. 😩

same thing happened to my dad when he was clipping Tinkerbell’s nails. My mom came home and my dad was inconsolable, sitting on the front porch with Tinker wrapped up in a towel. That’s exactly where my mind went when I saw this post cos Tink was a (wire-haired) dachshund!

I did that to Pablo once or twice. He was too squirmy. I usually took him to Petco; I would just hold him up and the groomer would trim his nails (lifting him upright in the air, or holding him on his back, made him hold still until you let him go). Totally worth ten bucks. Then we would get him some treats from the treat bar (like a salad bar but filled with doggie snacks).

Poor baby looks so worried. I just want to boop that nose and stroke puppers between the eyes and let him know it’s gonna be okay.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Cute Canuckians. Enjoy the day with family whether it be the furry kind or other!! Give thanks and be kind to all!

Our vet offers a monthly ear-cleaning and nail-trimming plan that’s inexpensive and, with a cocker spaniel’s ability to get ear infections, great for catching problems early. I don’t blame this pup for hiding from the clippers. I would if I were one of my pets, too!

My cat learned to do this after years of me trimming her nails, so now I have to go to a professional groomer to get it done.
