Happy Caturday! Today’s theme is orange cream, as displayed by this lovely cat sent in by N. Fritz, who writes:
This is Lily (Not That Lily The Other Lily). This beautiful British shorthair showed up in my bf’s garden last spring and then his sister adopted her. She’s just as sweet as can be, and I would bring her home with me if I could. Alas, I’ll have to settle for stealing photos of her.
I’ve always been a sucker for an orange kitty and this one is no exception. She’s gorgeous! Plus, her name is Lily which is perhaps my favorite name of all. 😍
What a beautiful face, and a sensitive and intelligent expression!
Such a pretty girl! Love orange/cinnamon kitties. Want to scoop up Miss Lily and shower her with gentle hugs, kisses and skritches.
Today we’re going to put up our Christmas decorations, both inside and out. Then hockey tonight and errands tomorrow. Gonna be a busy weekend. Oh and I have a new foster kitty. Two years old and called Tiger or Tiny Tiger or my new nickname for her TT. And she is tiny, only about 5.5 lbs(!!). My job is to fatten her up so she can be ready to adopt. TT is such a sweetie. I was warned she is somewhat shy and might need some time to adjust to being in a new environment. Malarky! Five minutes after I let her out of the carrier, she was up and over the baby gate into the kitchen wanting to explore and demanding loves and pets.
Happy weekend everyone!
That’s cuz she knows she is with a super cat mom.
sounds like the makings of a foster fail, AJ!
Good morning! My neighborhood HOA organized a community yard sale, so I’m out on my driveway with a few items. I managed to sell something to a neighbor but that’s all so far.
Teddy Bear update: He’s recovering very well and is scheduled to have his sutures removed next week, at which point I should be able to take the cone off. My thanks again to everyone who helped with the expenses.
A community yard sale is a great idea – is this a thing? Living in midtown Manhattan yard sales of any kind are not a thing.
So glad to hear Teddy Bear is doing well. And what a patient kitty be wearing the cone all this time without leaving marks on you!
My condo complex does one every summer on a Saturday in June, and the weekend before one of the scheduled dumpsters (twice a year? maybe four? I forget) we get for disposing of large items that can’t go in the regular trash pickup (not that people don’t dump stuff in the trash corrals where they don’t belong, anyway…no, your mattress, oversize TV, screen door don’t belong in there, thank you). They always do the dumpster on a Monday, and I usually miss it because it doesn’t get delivered until after I leave for work, and usually is gone before the end of the day.
They don’t seem to get a lot of participation. This past summer I went out that day and saw only one or two people out along the route I took out of the complex. I think they only mentioned it in maybe two emails. (I’ve never done it.)
(Oddly enough, my next door neighbor doesn’t have a screen door at the moment. Hmmmmm…… 🙄 )
It is so good to be here with you, dearest Cutetropolitans.
The past 3 weeks were very difficult for me. My Mother’s funeral was yesterday.
I am still recovering from the shock of losing her but I am quite OK.
Lily is beautiful.
I am glad Teddy Bear can get rid of the cone soon.
Hugs to you! So sorry.
My condolences on your loss, and it’s good to know you are handling things well. I’m glad we can be here for you.
So sorry for loss. It’s tough loosing anyone around the holidays, but especially a mom, because they’re the most important. 😥
Big hug to you, Ems.
OMG My mother died in April 2016 and when you said your mother’s funeral was yesterday it brought my mother’s funeral right back. I’m glad you feel quite OK but your Mom stays your Mom after she’s gone, for the emotional good, and bad ( in the sense of missing her). I feel for you.
Thank you, I appreciate the care I get here very much.
Oh Ems, so sorry. Been there, grieved that. Lots. Still miss my mom sooo much. Hugs to you. 💕
Ems! I am so very sorry. big, calming hug being sent to you now
My condolences to and your family. I”m so sorry for your loss.
Don’t rush your grief and shock. I can only imagine how painful this has been for you.
Ems, sending you hugs. Maybe as part of the healing process you can tell us some stories about your mom (when the time is right).
Gorgeous kitty and good news about Teddy Bear.
So the art studio reorganization has begun. First phase is removing items! Many bins of clothing to donate. Dog items to donate. Arts and craft items to organize/donate. Then two big items that belong to other people to get out! Then moving a big shelf and bins of stuff I’m keeping from one wall to another. Very exciting!
Once it’s safe in there for Millie I will buy a dog gate that I can position so she can move back and forth freely from one room to the other without big dog getting in. Millie has lived her life primarily in my bedroom. She does not have access to the rest of the house for safety sake. She and I will both benefit together with this new arrangement.
One organizational step at a time! January will be furniture moving, TV setup! Should be drawing and painting in there by February!
Welcome Not that Lily the Other Lily! This Lily says pull up a towel or comfy bed of your choice and join us in the sunbeam!
The Lovely Lily!
NTLTOL…nice ring to it.
Cats always know how to find the best background to show off their coat, don’t they?
I’d be face down in that white furry belly
Be sure to have bandages and a first aid kit handy if you try! That belly is…. a TRAP!
I love your Lily’s coloring! But I love my Lily’s ears!
Agreed, they ARE fantastic ears!
It’s Saturday!
Hubby’s taking me window shopping.
Mike, glad to hear Teddy’s doing well.
Ems, I’m sorry to hear about your mother. Here’s a gentle feathered hug.
Head scritches to the bouquet of Lilies and to TT.
Faye, jealous of your art studio.
The neighbours who bought me Duckie are threatening to buy me a Venus fly trap.
Hubby should be getting a raise. Benefits also supposed to kick in. Both of which should have happened in August.
Working on choosing New Year’s resolutions. They have to be both do-able and positive.
Off to wreak havoc on society. If you hear hysterical laughter coming from the Fraser Valley in BC, Canada, it’s probably me.
Do eet!!
The first thing I thought of!
Thank you, Duckie. May I join you wreaking havoc on society?
All are welcome.
Mornin’. (Well, afternoon, I guess.) Got some errands to run today, return some stuff, hopefully buy some sneakers. Exciting, I know.
It’s Illustrated Words week on A.Word.A.Day and I thought y’all would like this one from Tuesday:
inquiline: An animal living in the nest, burrow, or home of another.
Also I recently discovered that this Instagram page exists.https://www.instagram.com/catswiththeirmouthopen/?hl=en
Now that’s what I call teamwork!!
I love boids.
Hi, all, better late than never.
NTLTOL is lovely. Of course because she’s a cat. And she has a great name.
I’m sorry about your mom, Ems. And especially near a holiday. A few years ago my mom died just before Christmas and my husband’s mom died just before New Year’s, and for some reason I’ve had a hard time working up any Christmas spirit since then. So do try not to turn into a humbug like I have. (My husband was already one.)
I’m so glad Teddy Bear is doing well! And I know he’ll appreciate getting the cone off.
No news here. We continue Yoofi-proofing the house, and Sebastian continues to be a good boy and go on lots of therapy visits. Yoofi is beginning to learn some manners; recently we’ve been working on the “you’ll only get pets if you ask politely” rule. She can be just a wee bit pushy, to put it mildly! But she learns quickly — if a rule is to her advantage. She’s a tricky one, that goofball!
Any Yoofi pics would be greatly appreciated!
