Happy Maru Year

Maru and Hana would like to wish their admirers around the world a very happy, healthy and prosperous new year, and hopes that your 2020 is full of cozier boxes, crinklier bags, and whatever the heck it is that Hana is into.

And a happy new year to you, Andrew Y.

And the newly re-formed Maru emerges from his paper cocoon to take up residence in his sturdier cardboard shell.

A new attachment for my Kitchen Aid – Extrude-a-Cat!

Mike, I sent two items recently, to the same email address as before, and they both came back as undeliverable – do you have a new address?

Ditto XD I’m so used to sending stuff to the old address, but the Send me stuff link is updated with submissions@cutetropolis.com (Please use this address only.)

Thanks, Andrew – I’m not able to get onto the site as much as I used to so must’ve missed that.

Happy New Year to all you Cutetropolitans – I lurk sometimes, but don’t post that much these days. Hope you’ve all had a good Holiday Season with lots of fun or just plain relaxation.

A picture of Hana in the Happy New Year box and Maru in the 2020 bag would have been a perfect holiday greeting card.

Those two! What a riot! Maru squozing himself through the paper bag was adorable!

How’d she get Hana into a box? Usually Hana’s preferred role is merely to stare at Maru’s antics in befuddlement. Also, what is she writing with? I don’t THINK it’s simply a felt-tip marker (though I could be wrong). The ink looks too wet and the handle’s wrong. Is there such a thing as a brush (the kind Japanese and Chinese use for calligraphy) that feeds paint in from the back end like a pen? I Googled, but the items that call themselves brush pens mostly just look like markers.
