We have a new visitor this Caturday, fellow Cutetropolitans! Meet Willie, from sender-inner Gretchen B.: “I am submitting for your consideration a picture of my cat Willie, subtly waiting for belly rubs.” Oh, is that what he wants? Never would’a guessed.

Looks a lot like like my dear-departed Wacket. Beautiful boy deserves all the belly-rubbing he wants.
I’m going in!!! Love Willie’s pose and air of entitled expectation. Of course, I’m gonna get belly rubs.
In about 3 hours, hubby will be home from Japan!! Yipeee!! It’ll be so nice to see him. Before that I may go to breakfast and hit the farmers’s market, all depends on our friend who’s picking him up at the airport. Then we both have a three day weekend and the house is clean so really no chores this weekend.
Happy weekend everyone and for those in stormy parts, stay safe.
Willie looks like he’s living the good life! I love pictures of much loved, much spoiled pets. Gretchen B, you’re doing something right. 😉
Willie is adorable! A very handsome boy indeed. I assume belly rubs were appropriately given?
Yoofi may be an idiot, but she’s a crafty idiot. She kept licking her healing skin split through the Thundershirt, so we put an extra-sticky bandaid over it and put the Thundershirt on extra-tight. Guess what we found on her bed in the morning? We have NO idea how she managed that, but she sure did. Life with Yoofi seems to be a case of lurching from one near-disaster to the next! But we can never complain it’s dull!
Hahahahaha. Determined dogo.
Heading to the Women’s March at Foley Square!
Yay!
Morning, everyone!
I could use some furry therapy today. On my way home last night, driving through a curving, wooded stretch of road near the park, I passed a car that had just hit a deer…and the deer was trying to drag itself off the road using just its front legs. Heartbreaking. 🙁 The driver had pulled over (not a particularly safe place to be pulled over, either, since there’s no real shoulder to speak of) and was standing on the far side of her car dialing her phone. The police station isn’t far so hopefully someone got there quickly. I managed to keep it together (mostly) until I got to a place where I could pull over safely and then I cried. Poor thing.
Not a lot of plans this weekend. Chores. Hoping to finish the book I am 71.5% through. Watch some youtube videos. Just got a call from the library that a book I put on hold the other night is available, so I’ll pick that up when I go to the grocery store (probably tomorrow). I have some meatballs in the freezer and a jar of Rao’s marinara sauce which I’m planning to dump in my slow cooker this afternoon, and use the leftovers for lunches for next week.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!
How horrible, I’d have been devastated too. Here’s an old Lily pic for you. Gotta always keep an eye on the birds and squirrels!
Thanks, Jan! Give Lily a scritch for me.
And now I’m bawling.
Snow. Arctic winds. Cabin fever. Chest cold.
BUT today should be the last day for all of it. Next week? RAIN!
I’ve been indulging my hibernation gene all week. Flannel sheets and jammies, fleece blankets AND a duckie quilt. Hubby’s off for the weekend, and he’s hinted at a job interview next week.
Willie looks impatient for those belly rubs, Gretchen B. Allein, therapy kitten coming up.
Between this, and Willie, I hope you feel comforted.
Thanks!
It’s 28F here right now. 90% chance of snow (beginning around noon; it’s 11:45 now), 1-3 inches accumulating. Guess we’ll see. Tomorrow’s supposed to be sunny. I should probably bring my work laptop home next week, just in case (I don’t normally work from home but if there’s a weather closure I might have to).
Well, the snow started sometime since I looked out the window shortly before I wrote that (and it’s 11:55 now). Already sticking to my car. Grr.
Millie and I are waiting. They say 45 minutes.
The cars are covered. The pavement looks like it has a heavy dusting of powdered sugar.
We have about 2”-3” but it’s going to rain eventually.
It stopped for a while then started again, but doesn’t seem to have accumulated much more. The parking lot looks slushy. I think it’s raining a bit now. Or as the weather widget on my computer says “wintry precipitation.” Couldn’t really tell from the window but I poked my head out the door and it sounded like rain but the wind was also kinda loud.
So far this year no big blizzards in our region Allein!
Hello everyone! I had a perfect day yesterday. Every unexpected change in plans led into a timely other unexpected change. Very serendipitous. I asked for some help from my departed grandpa and he always delivers in a better way than I could control. That’s how I know he heard me.
The new walkthrough dog gate went up between my bedroom and the art studio. When both room doors are open Millie can follow me from one room to the other. Or she can retreat to my bed or use her pads at will. We more than doubled our space!
Slowly working toward doing my artwork in a professional manner.
BelugaXL!
