Nothing gets past these cats — even the dog
It’s not clear how the term “fraidy cat” ever entered the lexicon, because if there’s one animal that deserves the title “fraidy” more than the cat, it’s the dog. In this hilarious video complied by Huffpost and found by reader Alice Shortcake, dogs of all sizes are held at bay by cats in their paths. For the most part, the cats make no effort to intimidate, although one or two gets in a good whap to keep these poor pooches in their place.
I get the dogs. The cats’ aplomb is unnerving.

Discretion is the better part of valor. Shakespeare must have known a few cat and dog feuds. I laughed but still felt so bad for the poor doggies, the way they kept looking to the camera like “Hey hoomin, a little help please. Pleeaase????”

I love the one on the stairs who looks away toward the wall, like, “if I don’t look he’s not there…”
But my Stars is most definitely a fraidy cat. She was afraid of Pablo even after she got to be twice as big as him.
On a side note, I’d like to report that I got to pet a very fluffy doggo (a very calm Collie who wanted to say hi) tonight on my way to the mailbox. 🙂
