Look, I’m trying not to be judgmental here, because I know you’re busy every day at that “job” thing you do, and then come home and stare at that very important screen thing for hours, and so you might not notice when you’re low on cat food, so I’ve come up with a simple visual reminder: If there’s enough room for me to sit in the cat food drawer, then it’s time to buy cat food.

Handsome hunk in a hutch. As a complete aside; at lunch I walked over to the mall here to the Walmart to pick up extra bleach, cleaning supplies here for the office…phhht, empty shelves on all cleaning products and sanitizer. Why can’t people be this vigilant cleaning wise all the time? You’d think nobody ever cleaned their personal space.
I love his sitting pose. Almost disdainful. And I agree about the cleaning supplies being out. I kinda blame the media for hyping it up so much. For most people, plain soap and water works just fine. Leave the hand sanitizer for those who really need it. Such as my husband, he has several underlying health issues and he has to travel for work at the end of the month. I had to resort to buying rubbing alcohol and aloe vera gel to make my own version of it.
That’s cool, you Mcgyver’ed hand sanitizer! After that I circled down to the Shoppers Drugmart and there were about seven suits in there who were borderline apoplectic because they were all out of sanitizer. “When do you expect more in??!!” “What do you mean you don’t know for sure??!!” They had to have a security guard stand next to the sales associate– the poor woman was just this minimum wage young woman getting blasted.
You can make your own wipes, too… https://www.wikihow.com/Make-Alcohol-Wipes
When I got to the turnstile on my way out of work I could smell the Lysol and see the swirls from the cleaning rag on the metal. So at least I know they’re cleaning that. (They do the bathrooms and kitchens multiple times a day already.)
Oh, and this is one cool cat. My mom probably has some extra cat food he could have. (Stars is picky picky lately. If she doesn’t eat it my mom puts it out on the front walk for the neighborhood cats.)
Yes, I read up on it — two-thirds alcohol (not ethanol, the booze kind) to one-third aloe gel. As long as you have 60% alcohol, it will be effective. But soap and water is still MORE effective on this particular virus; it breaks down the coating on the virus so it’s completely unable to function. The sanitizer helps it to not function, but by a different method and not as effectively. So sing your favorite song for 20 seconds and wash wash wash those hands! Or do like the Queen and wear gloves! (But I’m wondering if she just bumped fists with her vicar at church on Sunday….)
When I used to travel by subway twice daily, even in summer I carried a handkerchief to use when holding onto rails or the escalator railings. I noticed almost immediately that I got sick less often. Sometimes the simple methods work best.
Nonchalant and in control!
