Links: The Nice Wombat Lady

Mother of wombats, zebra suits, floofy malamutes, and a talking porcupine.

And finally: Teddy Bear’s Birthday

Remember Teddy Bear the Talking Porcupine? Well, he had a birthday a while ago, and was just as talkative as ever. (via Amy F.)

I forgot I submitted Hobie cat… he’s magnificent! Love the malamutes – a friend has one and they are so mellow and floofy. And Lucy looks more like an ai-ai than a bat ❤️ Hope y’all are doing well wherever you are… I’m doing okay but I’ll be happy when the week is over and I have 2+ weeks to recover from teaching online. It remains to be seen if we’ll return to the physical classroom after Easter.

    N. Fritz, that adjustment to online teaching isn’t easy. Stay safe!

I’ve missed Teddy Bear the porcupine! Love his chatter and grabby hands! Have to save other linkies for later.

    Happy Birthday, Teddy Bear!

Any size floof makes for a good day.

Don’t care what he looks like, that kitty is cute.

Found out yesterday that 7 people in my department are being furloughed, including two in my group. Which means more work for me. I’m supposed to have a week off towards the end of April but I’m guessing that’s not going to work, now; at the very least I’ll probably have to work Monday. Will have to talk to my boss. 🙁

I’m in love with bat cat. That face! And now we are all doomed, there’s a cat with opposable thumbs. Big thank you to the Sheridan Trust for taking care of the baby zebra. Very clever to have each different keeper wear the same stripped coat, never knew that babies imprinted on mom’s pattern but it does make sense. And another brava to the lady running the wombat rescue.

I’m saving all these for when I get home. I’m going to see my doctor about a terribly sore throat. No other symptoms, just the throat and just on one side.
    Wish me luck.

There was an awful non-covid AFAIK sore throat going around here a few months ago….fingers crossed that’s all that you’ve got.

And yay! to seeing Teddy Bear again, and zebra suited zebra keepers!

I didn’t realize how much I’d missed Teddy Bear!

Duckie, sending positive thoughts and prayers. 🙏❤

    I’m home.
    Stupid allergies, nothing more.

Thank goodness! Thanks for letting us know.

Glad that’s all it is. I keep forgetting to drink enough water while I’m home and by the afternoon my throat starts getting sore. Then I freak out and then I remember. And then I get some water.

Duckie, I’m glad the news wasn’t worse.

Mike, thanks for the malamute floofs and the wombat lady. I should have just stayed in bed today, with the covers pulled up over my head.

    I have to share this.
Many years ago, hubby and I bought my 16 year old niece a remote control tarantula for Christmas. Yes, we were dreadful, but she loved it.
Apparently, today being April Fools Day, my niece used her cherished toy as payback for three siblings. She very carefully taped plastic sheets across their bedroom doorways, and hid the spider under the couch. Sister came home first, and SUDDENLY SPIDER! My second niece shrieked something very vulgar and unladylike, and ran screaming to her bedroom, whereupon she encountered the plastic!

    Good news Duckie!
