Meet Your New Monster

Congratulations on your purchase of a Bug-Eyed Fangbeast from Adopt-A-Monster, Inc.! With proper care and feeding, your new monster will bring you years of joy and contentment. One important safety tip: Return your monster to its protective container when not in use.

On the subject of feeding, you got any small children? (Reddit)

I wouldn’t turn my back on that thing, Andrew Y.

This wil be one of those pictures I DON’T look at before bed. Cutely terrifying now, but the cute seems to vanish in my dreams.
But for now I want to pick him up and cuddle.

I didn’t think this could be real but obviously it is. Best comment on Redit: He looks like a piranha with googly eyes stuck on.

He’s such an adorable monster. He can come hang with me anytime but sorry no small children in the house, I’ll have to find some other snackage.

Poor kitty. Is there any way orthodontics or some sort of surgery can be done? It appears bottom teeth could hurt itโ€™s upper mouth.

    Aw, I want one!

Hey, the old monster is still here!

I like the new monster too, it is definitely a match to my beauty, although I have my teeth properly arranged. 2 monsters are always better than just one.

I miss the entire Cutetropolis family.

Unfortunately home office means working myself to death. I normally work 8-10 hours/day at this time of the year if I am in the office with my office partner in crime. What takes 8 hours in the office is about 12 hours at home, so I work 10 hours on an easier day, 13-14 hours on a more difficult one, guess which one is more common ๐Ÿ™ By the time I managed to convince my managers that we needed 1 more person at the team, corona had already been knocking on the door…

If we return to normal life in 2022, we may get lucky and find someone for the job. It takes about 1.5 years to learn it, so the second half of 2023 will already be easier!

Golly, Ems! I don’t know where you work, but clearly they are lucky to have you, and I hope they appreciate that.

I think they appreciate me and not just financially. When my Mom passed away last year, my managers told me to stay at home as long as I need while still getting my full salary. 2 of my managers and my co-worker shared my job while I was running errands related to funeral arrangements. (Here at the heart of bureucracy it took quite some time) They offered all kinds of help you can imagine, for example they didn’t want me to drive during the first days of shock so I got a company car with a driver while arranging the funeral. Of course I didn’t misuse their goodwill so I didn’t much use the “free days” and the company car I was given, but it was definitely a touching gesture from them.

      I feel your pain.

My work is definitely bleeding int the life portion of my time which is frustrating as i’m getting less done but it takes longer.

What I would give for a decent, consistent VPN

      • Emsthemonster April 17, 2020 / 11:10 am

To me it is not just the VPN. There are many people who need not just a solution to their problem, but all available attention as well. So they approach both me and my co-worker with the same issue behind our backs, so if we don’t communicate somehow about every single case, it can happen that we both work on the same issue while the other 78 are waiting. I wish more people kept dogs to get all the attention of the world ๐Ÿ™‚ This behaviour wastes a lot of time. ( In the office we sit in the same room, so we can hear what the other one is doing)

Iโ€™m so sorry. Hope things improve soon.

        Thank you, Debg

Wow. Sorry to hear this. Those are long days. Did you ever say what you do and I just forgot?

Meant as a reply to EMSTHEMONSTER’s post

I work as an export manager.

  7. Dulcie April 16, 2020 / 7:35 pm

Yes Ems that is a long workday! It looks like feast or famine out in the work world these days. Not enough, or no work, then overworked from staff shortages. Sorry to hear that CV was knocking on the door. Stay safe!
You are not in Michigan are you? I saw that hundreds gathered to protest lockdowns.

    • Debg April 16, 2020 / 10:06 pm

I doubt that any of my family actually attended the protest, but Iโ€™m guessing most of them sympathize with the protesters. Hard to believe. Last Sunday, my dear old dad was complaining about the lockdown and in the next breath worrying about the economy. I tried to gently point out that dead people canโ€™t really contribute to the economy. . . Sigh.

    • Emsthemonster April 17, 2020 / 11:14 am

I’m in Eastern Europe. Here there are no protests, but there are a lot of people in the streets. Those who never walked/rode the bicycle/walked their dog before now are all outside.
